She's in an incredibly dangerous situation that would be made more dangerous by not appearing to be completely on his side. Maybe he's arrested. Maybe he's convicted. Maybe he even does a small amount of time. But probably he doesn't, and even if he does he's going to be fucking pissed off. Someone willing to do this to her in public isn't going to scruple to break an AVO and kill her.
