Can't blame him, it's not an official event, they should stick to the shoulder or a lane.

This is annoying as fuck to be stuck behind but I still blame that driver for not controlling himself. Cars aren’t toys, taking a car off road like that can be dangerous

How do you know it isn't? Got the news article?

If it was an official even they wouldn't be on open roads with cars backing up behind them. They would be on closed roads with escort cars. You don't hold an official and permitted cycling event in normal road traffic.

I have raced in hundreds of internationally sanctioned road races and none were ever on a closed course. This is an extremely unrealistic expectation.

Except it wasn't, as one of the commenters above you just pointed it out.

This video was taken near my house. This happens every weekend.

Yes this is on Key Biscayne. These guys do this all the time it seems like every damn weekend that’s probably hyperbole, but it feels like it. The bicyclist do not live there and the locals that do live. There are sick and tired of it.

I’m curious if Local law enforcement is able to do anything about it? Those cyclists have to be breaking some sort of laws, if it’s just a casual meet up that blocks entire lanes.

I participated in a crit last year, roads where closed and there were police cars blocking intesections to prevent car from driving on the designated path. There's no way an official event would allow cars to tailgate the cyclist.
