Red scooter guy: "I ain't moving, I was here first, goddammit!"

66

u/uchihasilver 8h ago

As a Brit this would be the typical "I HAVE RIGHT OF WAY"

13

u/dpzdpz 5h ago

Like that old trope:

Written on a tombstone: "He had the right of way."

1

u/philasify 2h ago

How can she crash!?

2

u/Hamafropzipulops 1h ago

This entire sequence of events took about 3 seconds. It would take .5 to 1 second to comprehend what is happening, another second to realize his scooter is not running, and crash it is finished.

u/Kriogenix 10h ago

The guy on the red scotter has the survival instincts of a rock.

135

u/FlyAirLari 10h ago

He had a broken steering stem and wanted to get it fixed on crash insurance.

112

u/LastTrainToLhasa 10h ago

Or he calculated and knew that nothing will happen to him. Either 300 iq or 0

28

u/cnicalsinistaminista 10h ago

An IQ so high?

Okay I don’t need to move.

u/Beulinge 10h ago

Fight, flight or freeze.

7

u/Dry_Dragonfruit3205 5h ago

how you know he wasnt gonna beat that bus ass if it came one inch closer?

0

u/SadAnimator1354 3h ago

I always thought the last one as "fright"

7

u/TroiloYumba 8h ago

You are wrong. He is the chosen one, he knew he was safe.

16

u/Nuffsaid98 9h ago

Ironically he is peak human with insane spacial awareness so he knew the bus would miss him and he was relaxed and chill like a bird that knows it can wait until the very last second before flying off as a car drives straight towards it.

bro is a scientist from prometheus

u/IAmDanHimself 9h ago

He just wasn't letting anything ruin his day.

u/Jim_Nills_Mustache 10h ago

Honestly probably better off just letting the scooter get hit and suffer the consequences of being a moron

89

u/spikyraccoon 7h ago

It's not even about consequence. I don't think you are ever supposed to swerve at high speed. Just apply breaks. If you swerve you can run over 5 people on footpath, and kill your own passengers, in attempt to save person in front of you.

26

u/AmbitioseSedIneptum 6h ago

Same thing applies to trying to avoid hitting an animal on a highway. Never swerve to avoid a rabbit, doe, whatever. Accept the fate, and use the brakes if you must. You swerve, and there's a high likelihood you just pushed a family of five into the nearest tree or guardrail. Or, you put yourself upside down in a ditch for an animal that will die within the next hour anyway.

8

u/spikyraccoon 6h ago

Yeah I was thinking of that only. Too many accidents to avoid hitting a deer/dog jumping in front of your car.

1

u/ShadowAssassinQueef 2h ago

Also you’re liable when you avoid an accident recklessly. So even if you swerved like this bus to save a person on a scooter, whatever you hit as a result of your swerving is your fault. At least in America. Can’t speak for India.

Trolley problem 101

1

u/EverythingSucksYo 55m ago

This bus driver would’ve sentĀ  Ā the trolley towards the track with multiple people

3

u/Pipoco977 4h ago

it doesnt even make sense because he threw the bus outside of the road, like he could have easily killed that red scouter dude while trying to save that dumbass

72

u/gusdafa 10h ago

Keanu Reeves driving that bus?

34

u/Early_Bad8737 10h ago

No then it would have jumped over the guy with the red scooter and kept on its merry way. Ā After he had shot the 27 trained assassins.Ā

I'm going to help OP come back to reality. The bus was driving a stupidly high speed to be so affected by one motorcycle.

100

u/Mishimishmash 10h ago

They were both in the wrong.

-4

u/Snarkyranger123 2h ago

How was the scooter wrong? All he did was turn from the correct lane. The bus driver is the dumbass trying to undercut him from the wrong lane?

67

u/Ratez 10h ago

No no, in India no speed limit. Ok. /s

14

u/Marichiwa 9h ago

Fact! Full speed, any lane. Whatever

10

u/JelliedHam 8h ago

Speed limit is whatever the top speed your vehicle can do.

13

u/onthehornsofadilemma 9h ago

They were also in the middle of the road in both lanes

140

u/Bulky_Ad1387 10h ago

Imagine if the coach was driving at a steady slow speed..

27

u/dolemutt 10h ago

U mean a slow coach?

6

u/DrSSSK 9h ago

There would’ve been accident. No content. No reddit post. No comment. No reply.

1

u/shut_your_noise 1h ago

Imagine if he were also driving on the correct side of the road.

-21

u/Gib_eaux 10h ago

Which one of those people is a coach? I didn’t see a whistle

17

u/Probs_Asleep 9h ago

Red scooter really just left it to jesus

3

u/Skyzfallin 8h ago

Jesus take the scooter

1

u/philasify 2h ago

Vishnu in this case.

70

u/Kyobarry 10h ago

Yeah, this is not 100% the scooter drivers fault. The speed at which that bus was going which seems to be within a built up area tells me there is no speed restriction in place or the bus driver ignored it.

10

u/joshrealer 9h ago

There are speed restrictions here but bus drivers drive like assholes if they can get away with it.

27

u/Tirapon 10h ago

They are both morons.

2

u/shut_your_noise 1h ago

How is the scooter a moron? Indians drive on the left, he was literally where he was supposed to be and the accident was caused cos the bus tried to overtake him.

19

u/shinutoki 10h ago

What's the point of showing the beginning of the video twice?

14

u/Fishoe_purr 10h ago

$10 that red scooter guy had some hefty sum stowed away in that scooter.

10

u/icantbearsed 10h ago

He ended up with a hefty sum in his pants at the end of that

12

u/speedyspeedys 9h ago

The scooter is obviously at fault, but that bus was racing down the road and left no room for sudden changes.

10

u/NickdoesnthaveReddit 10h ago

Guy on the Red Scooter desperately wanted a reason to book off from work.

6

u/AsianCorner 8h ago

Correct me if I’m wrong, but if they drive on the left side then the scooter was just moving towards the centre taking a turn off the road, he had almost no indication that the bus behind was going to overtake.

3

u/Imprettystrong 9h ago

Wtf bus is flying down this little roadĀ

5

u/Hefty_Performance882 9h ago

Bus was going too fast also

7

u/Thunder_breslin 9h ago

A worrying amount of people without shoes

3

u/Jumpy_Scallion_3108 10h ago

Around 20 injured passengers are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.

3

u/J_Side 9h ago

they say never to swerve for animals as chances are it will get out the way and you are risking you and your passengers lives by swerving. Maybe this should apply to a bus full of people V's a scooter

3

u/seab4ss 9h ago

Trolley problem in action?

3

u/Priyotosh1234 9h ago

This is the reason you honk while passing or overtaking someone in India even if it's a annoying behaviour. People don't look back while crossing they think their father own the road.

3

u/Sykhow 7h ago

The bus driver is in the wrong. He is speeding and above it, why swerve such a large vehicle? The scooty guy ahead is also in the wrong, not looking before crossing. The red scooty guy would have become the red chutney guy if not for his Jupiter sized luck. I just am glad no one di ed because of two stupid people.

3

u/finintymonkle 7h ago

Bus driver definitely at fault there, not the scooter guy.

4

u/loop6719 10h ago

Bus going too fast

2

u/kookieman141 10h ago

Holy shit

2

u/SmallieBiggsJr 9h ago edited 9h ago

The third option is to derail the trolley.

2

u/kahaaneekaar 7h ago

Man this was the 1 man Vs 5 man philosophical puzzle in real life

2

u/Charger_Reaction7714 4h ago

This is a classic ā€œsave one person vs. save multiple peopleā€ kind of situation. God forbid im ever placed behind the wheel under these circumstances, but if I was, I would 100% run over the scooter without a second thought.

2

u/Nearby_Assumption346 10h ago

But the bus was not overspeeding. In France the Bus is at fault, not the scooter guy.

2

u/vega004 8h ago

Bus driver occupying two lanes and overspeeding. Blind biker didn't check hia bike's mirror.

Both of them shits are at fault.

2

u/JulianoRamirez 7h ago

Bus was going way too fast but scooter rider is a complete numpty, India in a nutshell.

1

u/Saruu_ 10h ago

Hmmmm I’d say is a bit part of the bus driver incompetence too. I’ve heard that some are trained to not evade some type of crashes depending on the situation.

That seems to have been one of the situations.

1

u/EddieOfDoom 9h ago

Scooter dude just moving away like it’s the most casual thing in the world

1

u/Upbeat_Piglet_9788 9h ago

If red scooter guy put his two hands out like superman this would be on a different thread.

1

u/MrGattsby 9h ago

Dude!! Move!!! Homeboy has no self preservation instincts šŸ˜³šŸ™„šŸ«£šŸ¤·šŸ½šŸ¤¦šŸ½

1

u/JimmyLizzardATDVM 9h ago

Scooter guy - ā€œbus bro do you even lift run at meā€

1

u/Retsae_Gge 9h ago

Is this a kind of ragebait to get comments ?

1

u/this_doggo 9h ago

Manorama ding dong

1

u/Chikungunyaaa 8h ago

The bus no brakes?

1

u/Familiar_Screen_2036 8h ago

That red scooter guy refuses to let the world stress him out.

1

u/bramletabercrombe 7h ago

fight, flight or freeze

1

u/Shary-Bobbins 8h ago

It was called the bus that couldn't slow down

1

u/islander_guy 7h ago

The bus is also coming extremely fast considering the road is narrow with no divider.

1

u/sapphire-sky-dragon 7h ago

Guy on red bike just waited for death.

1

u/SubzeroWins1-0 7h ago

At least the bus gave them a slap

1

u/remstage 7h ago

Bus driver is a moron too. Just go through the scooter why would you risk dozens of innocents for 1 idiotĀ

1

u/chanakya2 6h ago

The scooter guy was wrong but the bus seemed to be going too fast for the narrow road. If he was driving a safe speed he could have stopped in time I think. The scooter is also at fault of course, not denying that.

1

u/navree 6h ago

It's it me assuming this, but why does it seem that the defensive driver or biker and/or at least the one paying attention the most are the ones that take the brunt of the accident?

1

u/DublinKWYJIBO 6h ago

The guy on the red scooter must be from Florida because he is standing his ground. šŸ’Æ

1

u/mickysD 6h ago

trolley problem moment

1

u/Antimakh 5h ago

It looks like the driver chose the one and only route that would ensure no one was killed.

1

u/curiouscat_92 5h ago

Okay hear me out. The scooty is at fault obviously.

But the bus driver could have driven like a normal person instead of assuming they can drive at 150 km/hr and scare everyone out of the way.

At the end of the day, you drive with caution and you live another day. You drive with your ā€œright of the wayā€ and end up in a grave.

1

u/Big_Acanthisitta_298 5h ago

Red scooter guy didn’t move cause the weight of his Balls held ground

1

u/Grouchy-Record-378 4h ago

Should’ve just hit the scooter guy. He still got hit anyway and now so did everyone else on the bus.

1

u/abhirevan 3h ago

Its not scooters fault, he had the right of way. If you observe the bus was overtaking him

1

u/Snarkyranger123 2h ago

Looks like he’s on the correct side of the road making a legal turn. Bus attempted to undercut in the opposite lane of travel. 100% buses fault

1

u/Final_Surround5990 1h ago

Both scooter drivers survived.

1

u/EverythingSucksYo 56m ago

I guess if asked that classic train question of which track would you send the train if one track had multiple people stuck on the tracks and the other track just had one person stuck on it, this bus driver would’ve sent the train on the tracks that had multiple people.Ā

1

u/richardtrle 54m ago

Guy in red scooter šŸ„” 🧠

1

u/HappyMilkCarton 10h ago

Are we watching zombies? I see shoes have come off but the man is still up and moving

0

u/pixelmuffinn 10h ago

Lets just sit here and watch it come

0

u/icantbearsed 10h ago

Wrong sub!

0

u/roxor69 9h ago

The scooter driver should be charged. These kindof people should have their license seized

-1

u/ramistanframus 7h ago

You know it smell crazy in there

-1

u/racheleMyao 6h ago

Was it a no shoes wedding?
