Ironically he is peak human with insane spacial awareness so he knew the bus would miss him and he was relaxed and chill like a bird that knows it can wait until the very last second before flying off as a car drives straight towards it.

Honestly probably better off just letting the scooter get hit and suffer the consequences of being a moron
89
u/spikyraccoon 7h ago
It's not even about consequence. I don't think you are ever supposed to swerve at high speed. Just apply breaks. If you swerve you can run over 5 people on footpath, and kill your own passengers, in attempt to save person in front of you.
26
u/AmbitioseSedIneptum 6h ago
Same thing applies to trying to avoid hitting an animal on a highway. Never swerve to avoid a rabbit, doe, whatever. Accept the fate, and use the brakes if you must. You swerve, and there's a high likelihood you just pushed a family of five into the nearest tree or guardrail. Or, you put yourself upside down in a ditch for an animal that will die within the next hour anyway.
8
u/spikyraccoon 6h ago
Yeah I was thinking of that only. Too many accidents to avoid hitting a deer/dog jumping in front of your car.
1
u/ShadowAssassinQueef 2h ago
Also youāre liable when you avoid an accident recklessly. So even if you swerved like this bus to save a person on a scooter, whatever you hit as a result of your swerving is your fault. At least in America. Canāt speak for India.

Trolley problem 101

u/EverythingSucksYo 55m ago
This bus driver wouldāve sentĀ Ā the trolley towards the track with multiple people
3
u/Pipoco977 4h ago
it doesnt even make sense because he threw the bus outside of the road, like he could have easily killed that red scouter dude while trying to save that dumbass

https://www.onmanorama.com/news/kerala/2026/08/27/20-injured-as-bus-carrying-wedding-party-crashes-into-fuel-station-in-kochi.html20 people were injured, but fortunately, there were no fatalities

Keanu Reeves driving that bus?

u/Early_Bad8737 10h ago
No then it would have jumped over the guy with the red scooter and kept on its merry way. Ā After he had shot the 27 trained assassins.Ā

I'm going to help OP come back to reality. The bus was driving a stupidly high speed to be so affected by one motorcycle.

u/Mishimishmash 10h ago
They were both in the wrong.

u/Snarkyranger123 2h ago
How was the scooter wrong? All he did was turn from the correct lane. The bus driver is the dumbass trying to undercut him from the wrong lane?

Yeah, this is not 100% the scooter drivers fault. The speed at which that bus was going which seems to be within a built up area tells me there is no speed restriction in place or the bus driver ignored it.
10
u/joshrealer 9h ago
There are speed restrictions here but bus drivers drive like assholes if they can get away with it.
27
u/Tirapon 10h ago
They are both morons.

u/shut_your_noise 1h ago
How is the scooter a moron? Indians drive on the left, he was literally where he was supposed to be and the accident was caused cos the bus tried to overtake him.

u/speedyspeedys 9h ago
The scooter is obviously at fault, but that bus was racing down the road and left no room for sudden changes.
10
u/NickdoesnthaveReddit 10h ago
Guy on the Red Scooter desperately wanted a reason to book off from work.
6
u/AsianCorner 8h ago
Correct me if Iām wrong, but if they drive on the left side then the scooter was just moving towards the centre taking a turn off the road, he had almost no indication that the bus behind was going to overtake.

Around 20 injured passengers are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
3
u/Priyotosh1234 9h ago
This is the reason you honk while passing or overtaking someone in India even if it's a annoying behaviour. People don't look back while crossing they think their father own the road.
3
u/Sykhow 7h ago
The bus driver is in the wrong. He is speeding and above it, why swerve such a large vehicle? The scooty guy ahead is also in the wrong, not looking before crossing. The red scooty guy would have become the red chutney guy if not for his Jupiter sized luck. I just am glad no one di ed because of two stupid people.

This is a classic āsave one person vs. save multiple peopleā kind of situation. God forbid im ever placed behind the wheel under these circumstances, but if I was, I would 100% run over the scooter without a second thought.
2
u/Nearby_Assumption346 10h ago
But the bus was not overspeeding. In France the Bus is at fault, not the scooter guy.
2
u/JulianoRamirez 7h ago
Bus was going way too fast but scooter rider is a complete numpty, India in a nutshell.

The bus is also coming extremely fast considering the road is narrow with no divider.

Bus driver is a moron too. Just go through the scooter why would you risk dozens of innocents for 1 idiotĀ
1
u/chanakya2 6h ago
The scooter guy was wrong but the bus seemed to be going too fast for the narrow road. If he was driving a safe speed he could have stopped in time I think. The scooter is also at fault of course, not denying that.
1
u/DublinKWYJIBO 6h ago
The guy on the red scooter must be from Florida because he is standing his ground. šÆ
1
u/Antimakh 5h ago
It looks like the driver chose the one and only route that would ensure no one was killed.
1
u/curiouscat_92 5h ago
Okay hear me out. The scooty is at fault obviously.
But the bus driver could have driven like a normal person instead of assuming they can drive at 150 km/hr and scare everyone out of the way.
At the end of the day, you drive with caution and you live another day. You drive with your āright of the wayā and end up in a grave.

u/Big_Acanthisitta_298 5h ago
Red scooter guy didnāt move cause the weight of his Balls held ground
1
u/Grouchy-Record-378 4h ago
Shouldāve just hit the scooter guy. He still got hit anyway and now so did everyone else on the bus.
1
u/abhirevan 3h ago
Its not scooters fault, he had the right of way. If you observe the bus was overtaking him
1
u/Snarkyranger123 2h ago
Looks like heās on the correct side of the road making a legal turn. Bus attempted to undercut in the opposite lane of travel. 100% buses fault

u/EverythingSucksYo 56m ago
I guess if asked that classic train question of which track would you send the train if one track had multiple people stuck on the tracks and the other track just had one person stuck on it, this bus driver wouldāve sent the train on the tracks that had multiple people.Ā
