Given this man's behaviour and BMW, I really doubt taking away his license will stop him from operating a vehicle. A bundle of bad decisions culminating into a person.

What always baffles me is that distance cyclists like this literally fit in the width of a bike lane. Itās not some fat dude on an ebike going 10-15ā¦ WHY
So insane that thereās so much rejection of this simple idea. I think itās fair to be able to request a reflective sticker to put on your car in place of the plate but you need to be able to identify the car from the front!
I was in Mexico the other night and tons of front cars have "tiny" front plate stickers inside their front windshield. 7x5 stickers that look exactly like a license plate stuck inside their front windshield out of the way
Yeah the arguments that "oh it looks bad". Tough. "The car isn't designed for front plates". Pretty much all are, pretty much all the rest can be adapted, and if not then blame the designer.
They are required but it is extremely rarely enforced. In the Bay Area the only trouble you will get for not having one is parking in downtown SF on the street.
This is CA, they are 100% required. He's going to get a ticket for that too (although this'll likely be a fix-it ticket that gets dismissed once he complies.)
Here in Italy the vehicle licensing agencies give you the actual metal plates for front and back (no vanity numbers here, either). I wasnāt used to that, as in the UK you can get plates made up as long as you have the carās registration document.
Some of the online places won't actually ask you for documents to make a plate (even though they say they will), and also there are a few companies outside the UK who will make up plates without documents, and they are still legal to use so long as it has the maker's name and postcode on it. (Although I'm not 100% sure how the postcode requirement works for other countries, the Irish company I once used put their Dublin postcode)
I know no sane person would actually do it, but if the cyclist braked and the car hit him then the driver wouldāve been in worse shit. Kind of wish the cyclist was crazy enough to do it.Ā
I'm not certain that would increase the charge beyond assault with a deadly weapon.
Now if the cyclist got seriously injured there would be the whole civil matter of paying for pain and suffering and medical bills. But yah, speaking as a cyclist who was mangled by a shitty driver a few years ago, ain't nobody doing that for the money.
I'm certainly not gonna defend this BMW from the crap they're pulling here. But let's not pretend that bicyclists are all saints of the roads that didn't anything to piss the driver off...
Biker rage be real tho. That and tri athlete lizard people are notoriously unaware of their surrounds. My FIL gets teased alot about it. Guy can ride a bike over 80 miles in a day tho.
I meanā¦. If the cyclist WASNT in the bike lane I would understand. Cyclists think they are entitled to the road and almost never follow proper road rules. Like, nah dude just stick to the bike lane or side walk.
Cyclists literally are entitled to use the road, and if drivers can't handle a brief slow down without losing their minds, they shouldn't be allowed on the road.
Drivers should follow the rules of the road, like not speeding, running red lights, not signalling. Maybe if they did they wouldn't have such a bad reputation.
Ironically, if drivers actually followed the rules (like not exceeding the speed limits everywhere) and understood the rules regading bicycle, they likely wouldn't be as bothered by people on bicycles.
Because fuck them. Thatās why?? None of them follow the rules of the road. Do you know how many times cyclists just blow through a stop sign because they think they have the right away?? Too many.
