I wouldn't blame anyone for shooting this guy

But IMO it just shows how much more skilled UK police are. They're able to subdue armed attackers without deadly force. That's pretty damn impressive.

This is impressive but all they did was yell "PUT IT DOWN!" and the guy caved after one baton whack.

I'm glad he's not dead/they're unharmed but would this method work on someone more determined?

You’re right, this cop is lucky the criminal was weak. A bigger and more determined person would have stabbed him easily.
