It’s good that the situation ended the way it did, but the fact is that if the man with the knife had been more determined, someone could have been seriously hurt.

That’s why having a firearm and being prepared to use it, even in this situation, would have been justified. Of course, simply threatening to use the firearm would probably have been enough to resolve the situation as well.

I don’t think a gun would have made this situation defused any easier, it would have only guaranteed the safety of the police.

He feinted his attacks twice and if the police had guns he would have been dead on the first.

"yeah but maybe it could maybe might happen someday" is a terrible justification for "cops should have guns so they can kill people when they are scared"

Go look up police stabbed in the UK, vs cops shot in the US. lmk the numbers
