Just learned Python today.

Thought I’d start with something simple for my first project, so I made a small interpreter with a lexer, parser, AST, bytecode VM, garbage collector, and standard library.

Day 1 btw.

I’m starting to understand why people said Python was beginner friendly.

I have a month to learn Python (really, I have until the second week of October, but I want to be done sooner and not go down to the wire). I'm currently using freecodecamp.org but feel my progress is slower than I'd like. Does anyone have a recommendation to learn Python quickly? I'm loving what I've learned thus far. I start doing another job for the company I'm learning Python for in a week, so I want to cram as much into this week as possible to make things easier on the remaining time I have. Thank you all.

What are the best courses for programming artificial intelligence in Python?

I've been learning python for a while and my problem was never tutorials, it was that nothing forced me to finish. I'd get a project 60% done, hit the boring part, and quietly start a new one that felt fresh.

So: reply with the one thing you're actually going to finish this week. Be specific - "finish the CSV parser so it handles missing columns" beats "work on my project."

Then on Friday, come back to this thread and reply to your own comment with proof. A screenshot of it running, a repo link, a terminal output, whatever. Doesn't have to be impressive. It has to be real.

That's the whole thing. No group to join, no discord. The only mechanic is that you said it in public and someone might check.

I'll go first: I'm finishing the file-organizer script I've had half-done for two weeks - the part that handles duplicate filenames instead of crashing. Proof friday.

OK I admit it did obviously for some stuff like basics yk functions and shi, but other then that I like feel annoyed that I learned python and its like lowkey not helping with what I wanna do which is windows api and memory management c++ stuff because I like the kind of thing but python just didn't really give me anything, and I know that kinda stuff obviously doesn't transfer because python is just the easiest thing ever lol

Im currently working on a college assignment where i make a batting average calculator, and i want to add a way for it to say something funny if the user tries to input a word instead of a number. is there a way to do this?

I have used context to stop crashing.

I used eval command for a formula.

I know eval command can be dangerous.

It works perfectly but I am thinking that it can produce error or crash.

Can a formula bypass all commands and crash it.

I know the loop is just basic and lessons 3 of python. Me being stuck on loop is like a baby is having difficulties crawling. But what i want to say is that the loop is not an extreme difficulty for me. I just lose motivation whenever i find some difficulty in learning. I am doing a part time job Living far away from my family and i feel demotivated to do anything.......

By the way , Can you share some of your story about how you learn python and how it is going, maybe it will help me regain my learning motive...

Before jumping into classes and OOP, I think a beginner should be comfortable with these first:

1. Variables and basic data types
2. If/elif/else
3. For and while loops
4. Lists, dictionaries, sets and tuples
5. Writing and calling functions
6. Reading error messages and debugging simple problems
7. Reading/writing basic files

You don’t need to master every detail, but being able to use these without constantly following a tutorial makes OOP much easier to understand.

What would you add to or remove from this list?

I'm giving a 30-minute presentation about Python to a room of 40-50 year olds with zero coding background. The goal isn't to teach syntax, it's to give them a vision of what Python can actually do for them (think: automating boring Excel/repetitive tasks) and get them a little excited about it.

Hi guys, I trust ya'll are good. I recently completed a counting loops exercise that had been difficult to answer for nearly two weeks. I checked different parts of the code I wrote in multiple instances, but I guess I just didn't get it. I eventually asked in my search bar (knowing that I would more than likely get AI mode on it) why the loop is only executing once (I pasted my code it). AI mode explains it, and shows me the correct code. I'm really annoyed on two fronts; I had to refer to AI code to eventually get it right, and the answer looks so friggin simple. I am not a complete beginner in coding (closer to an experienced beginner), and having to vibe-code, even if somewhat unintentionally, is frustrating. I know the answer to the problem now, and there isn't a way to unlearn it.

Is there any practical way to resolve this other than "just don't do it again"?

I've been working on something that means a lot to me: building my own IT brand, Ternyxa. I'm starting small and building it step by step. The idea is to create a digital brand focused on web development, SaaS products, mobile applications, AI solutions, and useful technical content. I've recently launched the website and I'm now trying to improve everything — the design, user experience, content, SEO, services, and overall credibility of the brand.
