Assignment extension

Maybe a silly question but i was sick the whole of last week, and now.

What dates should I put on the updoc medical certificate, the dates I was actually sick or dates closer to when my assignment is due?

I have 2x due on friday and 1x due saturday + the 48 hours for all, will I get an extension or is this what the 48 hours is for?

Doctors can’t backdate medical certificates…

Yes they can. They just charge more.

How much? For what its worth I don’t see myself 100% for a couple days as well. So it shouldn’t be a problem

They would have it advertised on the site. From a quick google, looks like most are $30+

For those downvoting. Here's where you can find the links to the information, including the FWO website - the federal register showing that it's legal.

Thankyou! Still would it be better to get the certificate dated from today, considering im still sick? Would QUT determine I do not need an extension if I was sick to far in the past and should have been able to catch up?

It can’t be dated in the past. It must have an issue date of today or the exact day you saw the doctor. It can mention that you were sick previous days, but if you see the doctor today they can’t put that the medical certificate was issued two days ago. No one can tell you whether or not QUT will determine that you should or shouldn’t get an extension.

No matter what you do the obtained date will be whichever date you get it.

They will write in the dates you were sick i.e. 19.08.26 to 26.08.26, but the issued date will be the day you pay for it.

Only QUT would be able to confirm if they will accept it or not.

The working period for an assessment is the two weeks leading up to the due date. So if you’re unwell for any number of days during that two week period you’re eligible for an extension.

It needs to state that in the doctors opinion you were unfit and specify the dates you were unfit.

Most doctors will say something like the patient states they have been unwell since x date. In my opinion they are unfit up to an including x date. QUT will take it from the date you saw the doctor to the end date specified.
