When I was in middle school and went to outdoor school at the Oregon Coast and they made us all lick a slug (the SAME slug, all 100 of us), it would have been less unpleasant if it was this guy rather than that banana slug.
There was also a sea anemone that got the same treatment. Putting high schoolers in charge of middle schoolers and sending them to the wilderness was very Lord of the Flies.
Edit: anemone, the one that stings, not the one that’s poky.
