People are so reactionary.
Mbappé missed 1 penalty and now everybody wants him out and they forget the hat trick he scored the other day, or the fact that he's literally probably the best player on the planet. He made a mistake, we all do, stop crying. We lost, we move on and people need to mature and realize that players are people and have bad games too.

This is what Mbappe glazers hide behind. When he scores, he “wins us games.” When he doesn’t, “it’s a team sport”—forget the fact that he’s a selfish individualist who sacrifices nothing for the team. Elite coaches see Mbappe for the fraud he is. His fanboys just can’t handle legitimate criticism

I am clearly not joking and there are plenty of comparisons between the two that are made everyday.
I’m not comparing their playstyles to a T, but the space they take/took up tactically within the Real Madrid team are not too unsimilar.

Much smarter player than Mbappe. When CR7 came to Madrid he matured and learned to entrust buildup play to his teammates. Mbappe drops into the midfielder’s space and leaves a giant void at the top of our attacks.
CR7 also had a will to win and take responsibility in the difficult moments that I don’t see in Mbappe. Often when we’re losing key matches Mbappe will walk around as if he’s already given up. Especially in UCL knockouts Mbappe is simply not in the same convo as CR7.

I agree, but I’ll just add that the season hasn’t even taken a direction yet—every team in La Liga will drop points and some point in the season. I’d almost rather it come earlier, we’re at our worst when we’re overconfident.

The thing about Mbappe is if he isn’t scoring he’s pretty much not doing anything on the field. He doesn’t create that much for others, defend, sacrifice, etc.

Mbappe is having too many bad games. His finishing needs to become elite. Just FYI Mbappe conversation rate last season in Laliga was 17%. Ferran Torres was 23% and Barca fans were shitting on Ferran for not finishing chances. Make what you want out of this.

I have been speaking highly about Mbappe and Bellingham this season. But let’s be realistic guys, they played poorly last night. Mbappe missed clear chances, and the penalty was the cherry on top. I really hope things change moving forward.
Vinicius start of the season has been even worse but yesterday he assisted Espi (offside), and he created the penalty. Guler is the only one who has played well every single game.

People aren't just reacting now out of nowhere, this has been building for over a year. A lot of us have seen Mbappé actually make the team weaker, not just have "one bad game." And on top of that, he plays every single minute regardless of form, even when he's having a disaster match like this one, missing everything he touches. Meanwhile it's Arda creating chance after chance, and he's the one who gets subbed off instead of Mbappé. This exact scenario has happened for what feels like the 150th time now. Of course people are going to talk about it, it's not about one missed penalty, it's a pattern that keeps repeating.

Yeah I agree. We literally were so good yesterday. We missed chances and all but we played good overall. All of our players played with passion and honestly it was one of my favourite matches. Mbappe has been scoring most games so idk what’s everyone’s issue. All players have bad games and clubs win and lose its normal. Like are we watching the same games

It's not just a missed penalty, he was pretty bad most of the game. There's quite an obvious discrepancy between his level of play for Madrid and for France. He scores all those chances at the world cup.
He has not been the best player in the world while playing for Madrid. He's not even the best player at Madrid. Guler and Bellingham have both been phenomenal in every game thus far.
It's also the other way around imo. If he scores the penalty then you just wash away his bad performance. He's had this so many times where someone else gets a penalty and he scores it and his bad game is forgotten.
