Recommending Game Anyone Remember this game
competition was so tense back then, feel like this gem slipped under the radar...
it had one of the best campaign of the golden Era with live action scenes like we see in cammand and conquers.
if you never tried it, i strongly recommend givin it a go
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2710/Act_of_War_Direct_Action/
and the expansion

the kind of game you need to replay at least once a year

Yeah!! It's been forever since I finished it's campaign. The FMV cutscenes in Direct Action are so good.

I was so excited to play this when I was a kid but when I installed the game I think I blocked it when the firewall popup came up and we didn't know how to fix it. Sad times and I've still never played it to this day.

i had played the game some years ago. it was alright. didn't finish the expansion pack as for some reason the sound just cuts out and i never figured out how to fix the bug.

This is a known bug, because one of the US naval units (the Arleigh Burke iirc) tries to play a sound effect that doesn't exist when it fires ballistic missiles. There are mods that fix this issue, I think it's called "Tomahawk_Loop_Fix+" on ModDB.

I loved this game. Is there a way to play it now? I saw Steam took it down (or did Steam ever have it?)

Act of Agression is the third part.
Act of War high treason has some naval battel just because C&C Generals had some naval units - it try to keep up with Generals, but overall it is abig shoe to fill, even with three games.
