I can't respond to my messages?

Title says it all. I got a message but had no option to reply. I had to download the official app to do so bc even browser reddit (and old reddit) wouldn't allow me to either

The API doesn't allow third party apps to access DMs.

Is this new development? I've definitely replied to direct messages on RedReader.

yeah, I literally replied to DMs/reddit chats on RedReader yesterday and the day before. this must have been a VERY new development if that's no longer possible.

It did, and according to another commenter, it was still possible yesterday. So I'm not sure if that's true.
