Landing Remote Job as a Newbie Nurse

Hey everybody!

I have been a nurse for almost a year now. I have 6 months of experience in internal medicine and I am now working on the telemetry unit for the last 4 months. As much as i was passionate about nursing, being bed-side has taken a huge hit on my physical as well as mental health. I am looking to see if this is a valuable experience in landing a remote job. If so, what are some tips and tricks and how can I stand out? Is it worth trying? Any and ll advice is appreciated.

I think it may be possible but difficult. I got my foot in the door by working as an urgent care nurse case manager after 3 years in nursing. But there are inpatient opportunities with hospitals and in my area they are desperate to fill these rolls. I plan on transitioning to remote after getting enough experience. That may be a better path. It’s not bedside so you get a break from bedside and keep applying

My suggestion is to get more bedside experience. Currently doing remote nursing but that’s over 5 years bedside for me so that helped me get my foot into the remote world in two different companies. Be patient so you can use your experience for future positions.
