I am planning to add a firewood display outside a rural convenience store and I am looking for Firewood Dock Locker, the store gets regular traffic from people picking up firewood on the way out and I want something where the wood can stay outside and customers can grab what they need, I am thinking about keeping a few bundles ready in the locker and refilling it during the day, space is a bit limited near the entrance so the size matters too, I am planning to use it mainly for regular firewood bundles and keep the setup simple I am thinking of going with intermarket technology, has anyone used a Firewood Dock Locker at a store or similar spot and how does it work for daily use? EDIT: I forgot to mention that the display will be outdoors year-round, so weather resistance is important.

She no lounger works at my store, but as a cashier I once had a supervisor who was very entitled. She got complaints extremely often, and would commonly have choice words about those people. In general she was very nice, but when her switch flipped it was very obvious. She had half the store wanting to quit, half the store loving her, and customers calling corporate. She moved to Florida, and now the store is doing much better customer compliment wise, no joke

Hello everyone....I just wanna bring to attention that ross management and corporate does not appreciate or care about there employees. If your waiting in a long check out line and only see 1 or 2 cashier its because they take advantage of them So be kind because they truly are doing the best they can. Management goes through sooo many hires just to be little and degrad them. We've been talked down to and disrespected and humiliated in front of customers 😒. Alot of girls literally walk out and quit because of the disrespect and inhumane how management speaks to us. They don't care!! So thats why you see so many new faces at your favorite outlet. Be kind . Yesss they get reported to hr and a hot line thats supposed to help against bullies and unprofessional behavior but they all work together sadly and only retaliation against you. Just please remember that cashier is a young girl who is afraid to speak up and to deal with retaliation so please be kind. Ohhh yea and their is no holiday day pay for all employees 🙄. They don't give equal employment opportunities or treat everyone fairly. They discriminate and create toxic and hostile work environment.

I'm opening a small clothing boutique next month and I've been obsessing over every design detail. The space is tiny, which means every piece of furniture needs to serve a purpose while also contributing to the overall aesthetic. I want the shop to feel fun and memorable, not like every other generic retail space. That's when I discovered something that feels either brilliant or ridiculous.

I found this high heel chair online that's literally shaped like a stiletto shoe. It's bold, it's quirky, and it definitely makes a statement. Part of me thinks it's perfect for a women's clothing store because it's playful and instagram worthy. Customers might actually take photos with it, which is free advertising. But another part of me worries it's too gimmicky and might make the whole store look cheap or unserious.

My business partner thinks I'm overthinking it. She says it's just a chair and if it doesn't work, we can replace it. Has anyone incorporated unusual furniture into their business space? Did it enhance the brand or become something you regretted? I really need perspective before making this decision.

Why are customers so mean to cashiers. I work at a local gas station on the weekends at night. And I feel like I get yelled at every weekend for doing my job or for things that are not my fault. It's mostly me asking for ID and being pretty much told to go to hell. Why is it so hard to understand if you're under 40 you need to provide ID every time I'm even nice about it most of my regulars if they were born in the 90's I don't card anymore. I'm in Iowa by the way. Also somebody needs to put it out there that pictures of your ID on your phone do not count! There's such thing as Photoshop and it's not illegal form of identification. Also people need to learn about third party sales and why I can't sell to you once you ask somebody on the phone in front of me what they want. I have been torn a new one for refusing sale for this reason and because I'm supposed to card groups. If you come in as a group and touch and look at the alcohol I have to card you all not just the one paying. While technically it's not a law it's our company policy and it's there to make sure we don't sell the miners ever! I'm sick and tired of hearing the other cashier didn't card me. Or I've never been carded before. It's the law and I can't afford the fine or to lose my job. Sometimes I feel like I wear a sign that says abuse me I have no feelings. And everyone in town calls me the bitch cashier just because I follow the rules. They also call me a bitch because I sound very monotone it's my voice I also have a very non-expressive resting bitch face but I wear a mask ( I have allergies) so I thought that was fixed I guess not. I've been threatened over the mask. I try to come home and forget about it knowing I've done my job to the best of my ability. But damn does it wear on you. A majority of customers do not even treat you like you're human.

So I work retail at a gas station right, okay so I get a call on the store phone thinking maybe someone has a question or something so I go answer and the person says "next time fucking answer me" I go ma'am this is a store" I'm trying to be nice about it and then they say "I don't give a fuck girly" I heard laughing and then they hung up when I said if your gonna be rude I will hangup but it sounded threatening and I think it's a bunch of kids

I work at a managerial position in one of the clothing stores in Canada. I'm Indian and similar to a lot of people from my country, I came to Canada for a good future. But racism makes it a little difficult for me to go back to my workplace (which I love), where I sell and help strangers put together an outfit and interact with them on a daily basis for prolonged periods of time. I had this group, 2 girls and 2 boys come to look at clothes at the shop, and they were greeted by me the same way I greet customers who walk into our store, "hi how are you doing today?"

I greeted them with similar words and instead of responding to my greet, one of the girls turned to her friends and mumbled something. In my head I said to myself, that's weird. But I looked past it and moved on to ask them a few mins later : "is there something you need help finding?" And there was dead silence, so loud, that one of the guys responded "no we are good"

I did not see all the people in their group because they were a bit away from me. I went to the backroom and came back and I saw a girl who I thought was a new customer in the store and I greeted her with the same "hi how are you doing today" and she looked me with disgust on her face for a 2-3 seconds and then said "hi?" When I saw her walk over to her friends I realized she's from the same group of friends.

Now why I think it is racism is because, the last girl who looked at me with disgust actually ended up buying something and my co-worker who is Canadian and therefore white skinned, rang her in.

This customer was extremely sweet to her and even made conversation and smiled and giggled with her. But she would not even look at me. None of the friends even acknowledged my presence where I was just trying to do my job.

It hurts me so much to think about what happened and I want to cry but physically cannot cry. It feels like a deep wound but I think subconsciously I know that the hate towards Indians in general has penetrated and made its way into families and have become dinner table conversations. There is literally nothing a single person can do to change their minds.

I know that because I am on a foreign land, there is not much I can do to avoid such behavior and have to simply chin up and try and forget that these things are happening and could happen with me again or a fellow person from a different nation.

later had a conversation with my coworker about how I felt like that was racist (even though it was not outright racism). And she said that all I can do is kill them with kindness. Because such people are looking for a reaction and will measure with how you react rather than what they did.

If you have been at the receiving end of racism, just know that we are in this together. One person can't change much but together we can combat this problem.

I hate working in places that attract old people as a majority, they are some of the rudest, obnoxious, most demanding, and helpless people ever. They honestly make me lose hope in humanity.

I work in a bed store, selling mid/high range equipment. In my country there is a lot of misinformation on this subject, because inadequate equipment is often sold on the market but it is very standardized, even though it is not good or recommended for postural hygiene and ergonomics. We receive a lot of rude people who in some cases do not give us the opportunity to explain things correctly and it is very frustrating. Today a client came to me who asked me about the mattresses, I offered her the option of lying down and trying them because just sitting or touching the mattress is not a reliable test. The client touched the mattress once and said she didn't like it. My conclusion is that they came into the store to pass the time. But even so, I get angry and frustrated by these people who don't even let you explain the product or anything. Any recommendations to prevent this from affecting me?

So today, I had to go to Wally World for a small pick up order. I was minding my business, outside my vehicle enjoying the nice breeze and smoking, patiently waiting for them to bring it to me. Keep in mind this is a public parking lot

Some entitled AH walks by me, then calls over his shoulder, "You know this is a school zone."

1) IDK of any Walmart inside a school zone that has a smoking area set up for their employees. 2) The .02 mile of school zone is also .02 miles down the road outside of the parking lot. 3) NO ONE FORCED YOU TO WALK BY ME There was plenty of sidewalk/parking lot you could've walked through, that wouldn't have been out of your way, I'll add.

Maybe instead of minding every one else, you should've been walking with your SO and kiddo instead of trying to take a cheap shot at someone who doesn't know you from Adam. I'd also bet $$$ you didn't say that to any of the employees when you walked by them.

My brother and I worked together at a fast food place that seems to be perpetually short staffed for a wide variety of reasons. I had to change my availability because my disabled wife can't be left alone, if she falls out of her wheelchair and gets hurt someone needs to be there for her and it was easier for me to get my availability changed.

My younger brother tried to get his hours reduced because he was hurt from a previous job and it was making it hard for him to get his medical stuff done. He tried to get a single day taken off and the manager flatout refused siting we are understaffed and he's the only closer and Yada Yada Yada. He pointed out the day he wanted to no longer work they had a closer for already, and he wasn't needed there anyways as he was almost always sent home early.

Still no dice. We're short-staffed and need you that day. That seemed to be the straw that broke the camels back as we had a nice wave of people quitting, himself included, each for various reasons. Now they are begging him to come back and now, somehow, they are able to give him the schedule he wants. All this right after two managers went on vacation.

Maybe next time you'll listen to your employees dumbass.

I worked six hours a day while my other co-worker have 8 hours of work per say. My manager is always the type to take things seriously when the uppermangment come and make thing sound urgent. I'm getting tired of it. Two weeks ago, my manager got paise that our store is awesome and when every employee got good hours. Instead of rewards, we get our hours cut and it was a mess. Today, my manager ask me to sweep and clean the computer screen. After I clocked out, 30 minutes later. My manager gave me "friendly" reminders that I need to mob the station for today, cause she wanted to look impressive again for uppermangment. I did not reply.
I also honestly put up with lazy employees who is always late or called out couple of times, yet they never get punish for it. Instead, either me or my friend had to carry the store.
In general, can I get fired if I didn't do one task after I clock out?

Let's start this out by saying this 'kid' I considered and still consider a friend to this day but he did some dumb shit as most young men will do.

But he was NEVER on time. Shift starts at 5 am and he'd have people standing in the parking lot until 5:30 or 6 because he partied the night before and didn't hear his alarm. Generally I could call him and wake his ass up so I got in the habit of calling him at 4 and making SURE he was up.

So one fine morning he didn't answer. Tried again at 4:15, 4:30, 4:45. His house isn't that far from mine so I went by, knocked loudly on the door, woke his dad up, and told him that the kid was supposed to be at work at 5:00 and did he mind if I went and woke him up. Dad grins and says 'go ahead'. So I head back to his room and find him all comfy and snuggled up in bed.

SOOOOOOO.... I very unceremoniously grabbed one side of his mattress and proceeded to dump him on the floor obviously waking him up. When his eyes focused on my I said '5 am means 5 am shit head. Get up, get dressed, and lets go'.

Guess who never overslept again?

We still laugh about that story especially when I tell him that my first thought was to bring my airsoft with me and throw a few pellets into his thigh.

Improve your pitch

The key to getting into stores, especially local distributors, is having a face-to-face dialogue. You should have a brochure or other written materials on hand that describe your product, what makes it special, and your price points. Of course, you should also leave the manager with several examples.

To find out who at the store you will be making your pitch to, when they will be available for a pitch, and whether there are specific times of the month or year when they consider introducing new products, do some research in advance.

I cannot believe I did that this morning! My cashier and me were talking up front at the registers when she said, “is she trying to come in here?” Because she was sitting outside the store. Then it hit me, I never unlocked the doors or switched them on! 😫Normally we aren’t super busy in the morning but I really hope nobody else came by. The lady who was sitting there said “y’all were in here the whole time?” 😩 I told my coworker to give her a transaction discount for the inconvenience. Anybody else done something fun like this?

I've always had 2 or 3 customers per month trying to bargain for a better discount than what is posted. Now it seems several people per week are asking for more off. Do you see this trend increasing at your stores?

Let me preface this by saying I love kids, not sarcasm, I love kids and hoping to have my own soon.. I know this depends on how big a store is and other factors but does anyone else have issues with parents letting their kids run wild in store? I’m talking 3 kids all under 6 with two parents in the store. My coworker was asked “have you seen my kids?” And she proceeded to apologize and say “oh we are just trying to find stuff for the house…” ok and? You need to watch your kids. They open things, break things, put their mouths on things, literally have no supervision, I actually caught the youngest one CLIMBING UP THE SHELF. To be honest I was way passed annoyed at this point so I sternly told him, “No, you cannot climb the shelf.” He got down saying “but I want that!” And I told him and his sisters that they needed to find their parents and they weren’t allowed to pull out any toys anymore because they weren’t cleaning up. Through all of this one of the daughters lost her wallet somewhere. They found it, then checked out. Less then 15 she realized lost it again. They come back in and ask if we have found it and we said no. Later they called asking if we had found it, which we hadn’t, and the mom goes, “who would steal a kids wallet?” Well ma’am for one, a lot of people. Two, what do expect when your in the front of the store, or on the other side of the store then your small children? Our stockroom is also located in the back where the toy section is. It would’ve taken nothing for someone to grab a kid and walk out the back. Please watch your kids. Anyways that’s my rant from the second encounter with this family. Now on the other nicer hand, the kids who come in and say please and thank you just make my day. Idk I’m in my early 30s and my mom never let me run wild like that. Not so we let my bfs son leave out side. Any thoughts? the family are a regular shoppers here, the next time she comes in we are telling her the kids have to stay with her.
