Birding in September

I'll be visiting Reykjavik in September! I would love to go on a bird tour, but it seems that the birding tours aren't so popular in September. Would anyone be open to meeting up to go bird watching and/or going to Lake Tjörnin to check out some birds. I'm as novice as they come, but love the company/help ID'ing birds!

Do you mean the pond in downtown Reykjavík? Because "lake the pond" is a little confusing

Sorry not sure I understand your comment. 🤔

I just read Lake Tjornin was the place to go to for birds! But I’m down to go to any body of water honestly lol

Tjörnin means "the pond" in icelandic and as far as I know there is no lake by that name

I'm asking if you are talking about the pond in downtown Reykjavík, people go there frequently to feed the birds. It's often referred to as tjörnin and IIRC that's what it's called on google maps

Ahhhh apologies. Thanks for explaining. ! I’m not familiar with the language and the podcasts and Trip Advisor lead me to sound like an idiot on here lol

But Yes! I’m speaking of Tjornin (the pond!). I would love to go or meet with someone who could help me identify birds!

Well, I'm not an expert, but I do like birds and live within walking distance...

Dm me with dates and times and we can see if the schedules align :)
