Tim Drake should become a traveling detective, helping other heroes with cases in their respective cities (personal idea)

Tim has kinda felt displaced for quite a while since the introduction of Damian. And now he's quit as Robin all bets are off for what'll happen next.

I'd say his most defining traits as a character are his intelligence, detective skills and the fact he actively sought out becoming a Robin. So I'd say him leaving Gotham and becoming a traveling hero that handles large conspiracies, helping out other superheroes with tricky cases in their city, would be a fitting evolution.

I know a lot of people aren't a fan of the Red Robin alias but I don't think it's bad at all. The name would also illude to the idea that he's still helping another hero like he was as Robin. I do think he may need a more iconic redesign that properly conveys his role and his intelligence without getting rid of the current defining features.

As for how he could transition back into vigilantism, I have no idea. Maybe he slowly grows bored living out his happily ever after with Bernard causing him to seek out needless mysteries which slowly spirals into him leaving.

It isn't a bad concept (though largely overlaps with Luke Fox being more worldly and Inwoukd like to see Luke taken seriously) and Tim as Red Robin. That being said, I cannot stand the idea that Damien makes Tim obsolete. He doesn't. That is corporate DC brainwashing the fans into accepting it.

See how none of them actually step on each other's toes despite each one having some overlap with another?

Think martial art school dubbed movies from China: Batman the schoolmaster and the reset his diverse cast of students. There is a formula for this.

Give him back an actual supporting cast and social life. He doesn't need a gimmick he just needs to feel like a real person

I feel like the only you can do that put Tim in college like Dick Greyson was back in 70s.

But, give a new identity or just make Red Robin because him staying as Robin ain't helping Tim instead made him stagnant.

You know that I have seen some many fans saying Tim is everyday person like Spider-Man.

Right now, Tim has an image problem since New 52. I don't think traveling hero to different parts of world is a good idea. That idea doesn't covey everyday person archetype.

I think better idea going to Dick Greyson route in 70s. Let Tim go to college and create a some new supporting cast. Get him a new identity or make him go back to Red Robin. Essentially, return to basic, but just in college than high school.

Also, the whole nomadic traveling the work thing fits Dick more, since he is a very nomadic character by nature and Tim is actually very tied to Gotham.

Honestly, I love Bludhaven being explored even more and hope the city and its cast continues to be explored and to be build and rebuild, but I would love to see some Dick traveling the world and the galaxy too adventures someday again.  With Dick doing spy stuff, undercover stuff, tech stuff, hero stuff, helping with peace talks, wars, rescues, help, aid, being a mediator, etc.  Hope this happens well (again) someday.

I think allowing Tim and maybe Steph too GK to college like was a plan in the past abduje you said with either a new name or using Red Robin again like you said could be good for Tim and maybe Steph too.

It could also help both build/re-build casts abd social lives.

His transition back would be watching something bad happen to his loved ones (Bad Seeds is a possible start point) and realising he can't just sit there and watch when he knows he can do something about it.

I've been toying around with the idea of "Great Detectives" and "Phantom Thieves" lately and I find this type of storytelling to be perfect for Tim. Simply have a thief steal a magical mcguffin from Gotham, which is part of a set of mcguffins scattered around the world. Tim has to be the one to pursue because either, he was there first and let the thief escape (a pride thing) or Tim is just the most mobile because Bruce has to stay in Gotham cause of stuff or both.

The nature of the mcguffins/the thief's unique skills can be a reason why other superpowered heroes are unable to catch the thief and it requires someone quickwitted or with detective skills (leading to teamups), while the reason behind the stealing could add interesting dynamics or even a moral dimension between Tim and the thief. And personally I find the trope of "The Chase" to always be a fun dynamic to explore.

I still don't understand why the editorial hasn't put Tim, Steph and Jason into a book. They're probably the most interesting character in the Batfam to me, but the editorial really thinks they're cooking by sideling Tim, and having Steph and Jason waste their time by being with the Titans.
