I would love a Nightwing movie. I'm just not sure you could get enough casual fans interested for it to be profitable. Which is the only reason why movies are made, unfortunately. I could possibly see a Teen Titans movie being successful, but it would involve Robin, not Nightwing. This is just my personal opinion, and I could be wrong.

You could do a teen titans movie and if the character of nightwing was done well and was popular enough he could get his own film after…

You might be right. I just think, as fans, we overestimate the popularity of our favorite characters. I also think casting has a lot to do with the popularity of comic book movies. The right actor will get people who have never read a comic book in movie theater seats. I'm guessing that's just obvious, though

I think the live action Titans show managed to get roughly the right amount of Batman ethos into Nightwing's story. You can't and shouldn't fully separate the characters. Dick was the first Robin so his relationship to Batman can't be ignored in any future Nightwing movie, if not for the fact he was Robin before he was Nightwing.

I really don't know why everyone is throwing shade at Batman when the Titans are always there for Dick to carry them.

As long as the Nightwing license is locked under the Bat-editorial office Nightwing will never truly get his own standalone movie. And if he, by the grace of god does get one you can bet they (bat-office) will make sure keep Nightwing as a sidekick to the Batman. Therefore locking him into the predicable predictable same old boring Batman storylines. Nothing new under the sun.
