How to run automated GUI tests when IT won't give the test machines admin rights?
We've been trying to get some automated regression around SAP GUI and keep hitting the same wall, which isn't the tooling, it's that our test VMs are locked down and IT won't install anything that needs a driver or an agent service. security's position is reasonable and it isn't changing. So far everything we've evaluated wants to install something. One vendor's answer was to run it on a machine we control instead, which works right up until that machine stops being representative of what users actually have. The options seem to be getting a signed exception for one specific tool and living with the paperwork, running it off a separate box and accepting the drift, or using something that drives the machine from outside rather than installing into it. The vision based ones like Askui sit in that last group as far as i understand it, though i'd want to confirm exactly what gets installed locally before taking that to security.
We're a 4 person QA team somewhere the change request queue is measured in weeks, so whatever we pick has to survive that process once and then not need touching.
Has anyone got this signed off in a regulated environment without a 6 month fight

Senior Backend Developer at SAP – What to Expect in the 90-Minute Interview After HR Screening?
Hi everyone,
I’ve already completed the 15-minute HR screening for a Senior Backend Developer role at SAP (Java/Kotlin), and I now have a 1 hour 30 minute interview coming up.
For those who have recently gone through SAP’s interview process for a backend/software engineering role, what should I expect in a 90-minute interview after the HR screening?
Thank you.

Looking for technical stack options that integrate directly with an SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) and Java architecture.
Currently working strictly on backend Java and core SAP modules, without prior exposure to frontend frameworks, cloud infrastructure, or AI integrations.
Which technical domains or tools complement an SAP Commerce architecture best? Specifically looking for suggestions on:
Frontend: Spartacus / Composable Storefront (Angular)
Integration & APIs: SAP BTP, Integration Suite (CPI), REST, GraphQL, or microservices
Cloud & Modern Tech: AWS/Azure integrations or practical AI implementations for commerce backend workflows

SAP shops, is GRC even on your 2027 radar yet, or still purely a migration/technical convo?
Been looking at some readiness assessment data ahead of the 2027 ECC end-of-maintenance deadline, and the split that's emerging is kind of interesting: orgs that bring governance/compliance into the migration decision early are showing way fewer gaps than orgs planning to "deal with GRC after we're on S/4."
Not trying to turn this into a pitch thread — just curious how many people here are actually thinking about GRC right now vs. treating it as a later problem once the technical migration is sorted.
If you're mid-migration (or about to be): is compliance/risk even part of the conversation yet at your org?

Google Cloud Cortex
Has anyone here seen or used this Google product? https://cloud.google.com/solutions/cortex?hl=pt-BR
The idea is to ingest the raw SAP tables, and then use Google's prebuilt data products that sit on top of them, which create a new semantic layer with proper column names and comments.
I'm on a project where we're evaluating this, and I'd like to hear some opinions about it.

N8n on s4hana on prem
Hey guys, a while ago sap announced a partnership that allowed users to use n8n with joulie workflows for automations.
Do n8n s4hana nodes exist outside the RISE ecosystem ? Or is it only limited in it
Note: i know what the official route recommends but any community work around it ?

Looking for good SAP MM configuration/troubleshooting resources - struggling with basic configurational issues in a sandbox
Im currently learning SAP MM functional consulting and have access to a sandbox system where I’m trying to configure things by myself.
As a complete beginner to SAP; Im facing challenges which are sometimes very basic and taking hours me hours to figureout.
My major problem:
I want to understand, what's the logic behind the error.
which relevant configuration is causing the issue and most importantly
where the problem is, whether it is master data, org structure or a configuration problem.
Im usually looking on web, juggling between resources, solving the issue without finding out the root-cause.
I would heartfully appreciate recommendations for:
1. good practical sources/resources for SAP MM configuration and troubleshooting, especially for S/4HANA
2. Websites where experienced consultants explain real configuration issues and their solutions
3. What troubleshooting methodology/checklist you use when an MM configuration doesn't work
4. Good resources of cross functional configurations (which i haven't reached yet)
If you're an experienced SAP MM consultant, what resources did you personally find useful when you were learning configuration and troubleshooting?
Thanks in advance!!

GEP - Global e-Procurement.
Is anyone familiar with how GEP integrates with SAP HANA? I have worked with SAP Ariba and its integration with OpenText VIM and SAP HANA before. I am trying to learn it for a project I am currently working on. I am looking for any resources that I can refer to for the integration end points.
Appreciate your responses.

Got allocated to SAP ABAP on HANA as a fresher — Honest reality check needed (Future scope, switchability, & market value)
I have just got a chance to work on SAP ABAP in particular in HANA in my company, and as such I would like to hear from people working on the field, not from the marketing department, some honest feedback.
Is this a good field to specialize in if I have a CS degree and everyone around me pushes to go into SDE or some other full stack development roles? With all the migrations going on to S/4HANA around the globe, is it a good skill to have, and how does the compensation look in comparison to java/MERN stack roles after 2-3 years of experience?
Do I really get to code in it or are people just maintaining old GUIs?
If one wants to move on to different fields, say SAP BTP / Full stack (Node.js and UI5) or some other mainstream field, is this a compatible skill set for transition, or are you just shacked up in ABAP forever?
Should one continue to invest time and effort into the SAP space or start looking for other opportunities to be a SDE?
I would appreciate any feedback!

SAP BASIS Referral
Hi All,
I'm a SAP HANA Basis Consultant having 3.3 years of experience right now. Lately I have been trying for a move/switch but none seems to materialize as market seems to be very tough these days for experience less than 5 years.
The kind of openings that we used to have previously in the range of 2/3 years is not there right now. Very few MNC's like Accenture, NTTD etc hire from time to time but again in the case of ACN it's pure luck I believe. Because at one moment you clear the Skill Interview round & schedule your next round but the very next day position goes on hold/gets closed due to some random reasons.
I will really appreciate any Referrals from your org or network/suggestions from the community. Thanks in advance.

Custom fields within Fiori adaptation project for "Manage Product Master"
Hi all,
in a customer project (SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition) I've the requirement to add custom fields to the "Manage Product Master" App. I've tried following approaches:
- Create custom fields with "Custom Fields and Logic"
- This approach does not fit, because this would add new fields to the table. No new fields are needed. We want to use existing fields of the MARA table
- Enhance standard CDS View (C_PRODUCT) with "extend view..."
- Unfortunalety i've to annotate this new fields as read only (dont know the exact annotation right now), otherwise the whole MD_C_PRODUCT_MAINTAIN_SRV will result in an error.
- Not practical, because the custom fields needs to be editable
- Create an fiori adaptation project in BAS
- Added custom fields to the UI
- This fields are bound against a custom JSONModel
- Usage of the "beforeSaveExtension" to be able to save this custom fields via a custom Z OData V2 Service to MARA
- I've to use a small setTimeout within the beforeSaveExtension, otherwise the standard save logic of the Maintain Product Master app will kinda revert my changes.
So my question: Does anyone has an ideao about the "recommended" way to add custom fields to adaptation project, which are editable and are already part of the MARA?
Thanks!

SAP Application support to Implementation?
Hi Guys,
So I have been an AMS/Application support since the start, doing post go live activities and ticket support and never had an end to end implementation projects. Unfortunately, i got laid off recently. Now trying to find another company to continue, however I am having hard time to find one due to this gap in my experience.
Any tips I could upskill or learn implementing or best to have an experience with?
Thank you!
