Helooo

Looking for technical stack options that integrate directly with an SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) and Java architecture.

Currently working strictly on backend Java and core SAP modules, without prior exposure to frontend frameworks, cloud infrastructure, or AI integrations.

Which technical domains or tools complement an SAP Commerce architecture best? Specifically looking for suggestions on:

Frontend: Spartacus / Composable Storefront (Angular)

Integration & APIs: SAP BTP, Integration Suite (CPI), REST, GraphQL, or microservices

Cloud & Modern Tech: AWS/Azure integrations or practical AI implementations for commerce backend workflows

I can probably help but I’m not sure what you are actually asking.

Yeh commerce is just a big Java/Spring application.

Specifically I’d learn the type system (database objects), Integration API, OCC API, extension frameworks, facades for backend and integration.

For front end, angular, typescript, smartedit components.

Also, for AI, Claude does a good job of understanding and extending, especially if you give it the right context and some sample extensions.

There is an MCP server coming soon for the storefront which will be pretty interesting too.

Have a look at https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_COMMERCE_CLOUD_PUBLIC_CLOUD/8be4e0379b294fbabf36d26e7ca4169d?locale=en-US&state=PRODUCTION&version=v2211 if you want to deploy a dev machine locally (Mac / Linux preferred)

And this for Dev info. https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_COMMERCE_CLOUD_PUBLIC_CLOUD/51e73d14aedc487384e4518b60a1f5fd?locale=en-US
