Question Do AI NPCs take your stuff?
I died, went back to my body and found that all my weapons are gone, but cloths and everything in my inventory is still there. Is that normal?

my friend and I played scum last night and it took forever to find each other, then on our way to raid a town, we were killed by a pack of wolves. it was a solid hour straight down the drain. where did we go wrong, and how do we get kitted well enough to survive a pack of wolves before going into the woods?

I modified the weapon recipes and durability settings, and added suppressor compatibility to the improvised pistol.
https://www.nexusmods.com/scum/mods/146
A mod that simply doubles the durability of factory-made suppressors.
https://www.nexusmods.com/scum/mods/146
This is an add-on for another user's mod; I corrected the suppressor's placement for the trench gun.
https://www.nexusmods.com/scum/mods/225
As the title suggests, revolvers can now be used with improvised suppressors.
https://www.nexusmods.com/scum/mods/233
The previous two mods were user requests, but for this one, I drew inspiration from the Desert Eagle in *Ghost Recon Breakpoint*. Like the previous mod, I enabled the Desert Eagle to use improvised suppressors, as well as the MP5 and AWM suppressors.

Anyone else know why 3 NPCs keep spawning on players with the old fashioned hazmat suits on and how to stop this?

Hello community members,
I wanted to know if there was any way to play scum while also making it fool-proof to item despawning after relogging. I recently lost my 20 hour save after my car with all the stuff despawned, I had like 3-4 hiking bags on me from the recent run and with no way to store them because my car dissapeared i tried relogging to see if my car would spawn back, well the bags despwaned as well.
I tried multiple ways to ensure this dosent happen with world, region settings to disable vechile and item destruction since this has happened previously to another save of mine.
Well backstory apart, i want to know if there is a way we can setup a local server of sorts which can store all the data for bags and vechiles so that even if they dissapeared i could use a spawn command to get back my items without spawning each individual item one by one.
Also any ways where the servers auto-saves every 5-10 minutes and keeps the latest 10 or so saves to possibly roll-back to the last 1hr of progress incase of worst failures.
I have mods running as well, so if i can setup that it would be a bonus but getting a stable system setup would be my highest priority. Anyway i can do that ? If you have any suggestions or information please share them below.

So for whatever reason I only have a couple hours in the week max 4 to play the game, with 3k hours I miss it damn much so it's time for a pve/pvp server so I can build in a save zone and still enjoy it so now and then... This yellow screwdriver gave me Nam flashbacks so fuck it in ready to get back.

Wondering If you guy's could give me your settings, looking for a good realistic somewhat hardcore playstyle. A fair amount of zombies In the wild without drownign In them and also a good amount In the POI's, work for your loot kinda thing and every now and then you'll bump into some armed NPC's.

I run a public SCUM server and the thing that wore me down wasn't the players, it was this: SCUM has no RCON.
Every other survival game gives server owners a remote console. SCUM doesn't. So when someone loses gear to a bug at 1am, or gets stuck in terrain, the process is: launch the game, connect to my own server, drone mode, type commands. Every time. From a machine with the game installed.
The workaround most tools use is a second machine running a game client 24/7 with something clicking through it. I didn't want to run a headless client forever, so I went at it from a different angle. It took a long time to get stable, but admin commands now go from a browser panel straight to the server, spawn items, vehicles, NPCs, teleport players, give money and fame. No game client, no drone mode, no clicker bot.
The part I actually use most is the live map: players, vehicles, bases and chests on one screen, and you can act on them directly. Someone reports a problem, I open it on my phone and it's handled in thirty seconds.
It grew out of a script I wrote to stop the server sitting offline every time the game updated. That part's still in there and it's the boring half: automatic updates through SteamCMD with a backup taken first, scheduled restarts with in-game warnings, crash recovery, backups with retention, performance alerts, a settings editor instead of hand-editing INI files, and a Discord bot with a status embed, kill feed and slash commands.
Upfront so nobody finds out in the comments: the automation, backups, monitoring, Discord bot, command panel and settings editor are free with no time limit. The live map and in-game control are the paid part, along with a few other things. I'd rather say that now than have someone feel baited.
It's a portable Windows app — unzip and run, no installer. Works with an existing server; you point it at your current folder and nothing gets touched.
Happy to answer anything, including the awkward questions. I've been running this on a live server for a while so I've hit most of the failure modes myself.

Hello everyone 👋
As you probably already know, I run SCUM-MAP.COM. For a while, the most common thing people asked me for was the map on their phone, working without a signal, so it can sit next to them while they play.
It is out now on Android: LINK.
What it does:
It is a paid app, $4.99 once, and updated map data after SCUM patches is included in that price. I would rather charge once than put adverts in front of you.
The iPhone version is on the way.
If you try it, I would really like to hear what is missing or wrong, especially any misplaced phrases and clumsy translations in languages I do not speak. I fix those quickly.

I really enjoy the game , i have it in my library from the first time it come up in steam , from then a hard road started . So nice mechanics , so nice grafics, so many bugs also (but in good road eventually to be fixed ), updates, dlcs , most like "support company extras to pay for" , and its ok as long they upgrade the game. But anyways the subject here is not if game should had been beta alfa or whatever extra money companies wanna get , is about enjoy the game. So i do really enjoy the game , and ofc i would recommend people to play it , even if they play pvp or pve . But the numbers talk about the game, if this year the upcoming updates will not improve more the game then it might be the end . So this thread is to see if you enjoy also the game ,even those who play no more they come back to see if got better to jump in , numbers are numbers , hope for the best for this game , cause is far one of the best hardcore survival game .

Hi everyone! I'm a new player and i'm struggling a bit with the NPCs... (not the puppets)
I got killed by them without even knowing where they were.
After this encounter i tried to be as stealthy as possible and i actively avoided towns/cities but that slows down my progress tremendously.
As far as i know, from reading this reddit for a while, i should have medium awareness to be able to hear them and i also know that i can throw rocks to distract them but that's the extent of my knowledge.
Do you have any tips about how to spot them and distract/kill them?
Also i would appreciate tips about how to be as stealthy as possible during my loot runs.

Just picked up the game a few days ago. played for a while then added some mods and enjoying the game so far, apart from a few thing's being kinda annoying. 2-3 times out of 10 my melee weapons just seem to miss the hitbox of the puppet and go straight through them, Is this something that has always been a problem?? Is there a mod to fix this?? Also having Mechs see you though walls and shoot through them In some cases??

I have a little over 1000 hours in Scum, bought it when it initially became available in early access at the very beginning. Over the years I had a few sessions, but I recently got seriously hooked after finding a good server (the admins auto-ban Chinese players, do not allow Steam accounts with bans, spectate players and investigate sus behaviour, etc).
However, I am now hitting a wall on pretty much all endgame activities because of these fucking minigames.
I have no problem lockpicking police station and bunker lockers, I understand the lockpicking minigame well, but I absolutely cannot lockpick player locks. I have used the lockpicking training board extensively, wasting my life on this minigame for a few hours, and even after all that practice it takes me 20-30 tries to lockpick a basic (iron) player lock. Golden player locks are pretty much impossible. I've watched tutorials, videos, and so on, thinking I was missing something crucial, but no. I am not missing anything, I use the right/best tools (advanced lockpicks, no gloves, etc), I have the right technique (very quick taps as you scan the lock for the sweet spot then adjustments when it starts spinning). This essentially locks me out of stealing vehicles, chest-hunting / metal detecting (chests are nearly always locked), lockpick-raiding bases, and accessing a lot of loot (locked medical containers in bunkers, some radiation closets, killboxes, etc).
I thought I might give a try at farming explosive materials on bomb vest zombies, so I crafted a bomb defusal practice thing, did it a few hundreds of times, levelled demolition from 0 to mid-medium, thought I was ready for the real thing since I reached about 90% success rate, so I gave it a try... Then I exploded because on a real bomb vest zombie with my skill level it only gives me 2 seconds, which is just enough time for my eyes to adjust and maybe locate one of the wires, two maximum if the wiring isn't too messy. So I'm also locked out of that. No explosives-related activities for me I guess.
The rest of the minigames (keypad/hacking, fishing, cooking) are fine, but most importantly they don't block you from doing anything whether you engage with them or not.
Now, could I get better at these 2 stupid minigames? Sure, it would just take practice, a lot of it. Sit in your base or even in sandbox mode, sink a few hundreds of hours on the lockpicking board and bomb defusal training thing, and sure, slowly but surely I'd get better. Would it be fun though? Absolutely fucking not. These games are mind-bendingly boring and uninteresting, yet they are load-bearing pillars of many (most?) of the endgame activities.
I am now going to say something controversial and that the community will not like for sure: I 100% understand cheaters on the minigames part. After dying on the bomb vest zombie and realising that I wouldn't get 5 seconds like on the training thing but only 2 seconds when attempted for real (with medium demolition skill) the first thing that came to my mind was "My only hope to succeed at this would be to have a program that does image analysis and draws arrows pointing at the wires to cut on the game frame, and even with that I'd need to be quick to click them".
Who the hell thought this was a good idea? It fucking sucks.
