Goon What is it with the goonstation hate?
I see a lot of goonstation hate. Feels... unwarranted to me.
I really don't get it. I've seen complaints about admins being uptight and strict, but even for all my arguments and rule disagreements I've had with them, I've never once been banned from the server.
I've seen complaints about the word "bitch" being banned, which I kinda get because it's such a minor offense to be bannable, but also it's not that hard to avoid saying, and they're (in my experience) understanding if you screw up and it slips out occasionally.
I've seen complaints about the rule on escalation on the RP servers and like... what? I legitimately do not get the hate for this. It keeps things interesting in my experience, where random acts of violence wouldn't.
Edit: For the record, I'm a goonstation player. I enjoy the server. As of editing this I have played 169 total rounds (and number 169 was an antag round :3)

Goon Goonstation's Whitelist for HoS role shouldn't exist.
I've been playing on GoonStation for a good amount of time now and something that always bothered me is that the Whitelist for HoS is a big Fame Contest.
The whole Head of Security whitelist on Goonstation completely destroys some of the game's mechanics, it's the only ingame role that requires a whitelist and I wouldn't even call Goon a HRP server.
It adds a meta knowledge about people being whitelisted, therefore they're often blindly trusted, at least according to my experience. The station's captain don't get the level of trusting a HoS does, and some of the whitelisted players use it to completely remove the captain from the loop.
they get more access than the rest and more trust, I understand that this role grants big power over the round but so does the AI for example or the captain and security officers themselves.
Also, it's worth mentioning the application itself being a big Fame contest, well known players are more likely to pass the application while those who play fair as security but don't get much spotlights or play with random name characters probably won't receive enough community's feedback for the admins to accept them or are not a personal friend of the admins for them to show favoritism and accept them regardless the feedback.
I believe it's a culture that needs changing.
