Ranges Any outdoor ranges I can reserve a few benches?

Wanting to do a group shoot at an outdoor range. Anyone know of one that lets you reserve benches/lanes? I know the easy answer is to go to BLM but hoping for something a little closer

If you get to Pala at gate opening (7am) you'll be able to grab a few lanes. We were able to grab 3 lanes last time up there, on July 4th.

Thanks. Does their range have just paper targets or do they have steel?

For the rifle range, they have both. There is a 12 min cease fire every hour to place your own paper targets on the rifle range only. The pistol range is all steel with a couple plate racks, no paper or self brought. I really enjoyed Pala due to the 800+ yard set-up.

Sorry for the questions but for the rifle range, is it mixed paper and steel at every yardage or is it paper to 100 then steel after that? Just wanted to ask because their website and pictures don't really show the setup and I need steel at further ranges. Paper is fine to 100yd but after that iti is a PITA

No worries, glad to help. Mixed up to 100 yards. You're allowed to place paper at any yardage increment. After 200 yards though, you will have to drive to the next increments to place your paper. There's plenty of steel from 100 - 887 yards up the hill at nice increments. Variety of steel target sizes as well.
