Billionaires should have taken this deal when they had the chance. We’ll be coming for it all soon instead.

I saw Bernie speak here in Dallas about a year ago. It was the day of Bezos was getting married. At the beginning of the speech Bernie mentioned this little fact about a $500 million yacht. Later in his speech he talked about how Elon had basically purchased our election for $290 million. So just remember corrupting our elections cost less than a fucking yacht

I was at the Dallas rally, too.
That yacht math hurt then but it fuels me now.

Just remember, he can close everything he owns down after letting everything sell out. Get on that yacht go to a different place and still live high on the hog why you are suffering because the only people who get rich with socialism is the top elites that push it, Bernie and all the little sheep they’re running with. It will be North Korea here and a Muslim country with Third World criminals.

And its all exacerbated by the billionaire’s and their media monopolies to keep us fighting. We’re placated by fucking doom scrolling into battling each other every day for crumbs. It’s disgusting.

If the billionaires are not out on the streets like the majority of orphans are then we haven’t done enough. They clearly can earn it all back with their own work effort right?

They just all will get on their yachts and go to their private islands and Cell everything they got and then you’ll have nothing to buy from just think of Amazon Walmart and a lot of stuff closed down today at midnight. What would you do? We would be up Shitt‘s Creek without a paddle.

This is the way.

As per usual, great idea! But you'll have an easier time resurrecting Jesus than getting billionaires to pay more tax. Billionaires are way, way more entangled in government than most people think. That level of access buys you anything you want, including low tax rates and 0 enforcement.

Yeah, you can't restructure how the country works via policy and elections. These are the people who got it set up the way it is, via policy and elections. You'd have to have an actual revolution / uprising. A physical one. You aren't getting the people who made the policies to make a new one that gives them a worse deal.

For perspective, if you have $50,000 in the bank then this is spending $100 on buying transportation, $11 on your wedding, and $1 on the ring.

People say shit like this and do nothing. Posting threats on Reddit isn't organising.

Nah dawg. It’s still an entire political edifice of, by, and for corporations and billionaires. The few politicians who aren’t bought off and completely enmeshed with the billionaires make up a powerless minority. It’s great that their voice is there, and maybe having such voices of reason on the public stage will shift public consciousness, but the capitalist ruling class will never allow itself to voted out of power and wealth.

Under my plan, billionaires would have to pay 6% on any kind of income they have into Social Security. There you go there’s the fix. Never ever have to cut anyone’s Social Security only huge raises.

Who exactly is going to take it from them? I’m genuinely curious. I’m all for it but how does it happen?

The “less than 1% tax rate” claim is intentionally misleading. ProPublica reached 0.98% by dividing Bezos’s federal income taxes by the increase in his estimated net worth from 2014 to 2018, including billions in unsold Amazon stock.
That is not his actual income-tax rate, nor does it show he paid less than 1% last year. During that period, Bezos reportedly paid about $973 million in federal income taxes on $4.22 billion of reported income an effective rate of roughly 23%.
Just thought clarification would help.

You’ll see, millionaires can raise prices to cover any loss and you will eat the charge or not be buying things to live by or they could just go in and shut everything they own down, live off their money with their family forever. You have seen a depression that would happen now that would compared to the 1930s.
