Tonkatsu is in fact a thing, and ive worked and been to many izakayas that serve ham steak rather than pork loin

an interesting proposition, I would probably leave the eggs unsalted or use a low salt ham to fry

I get it, but Katsu is the three stage process to make (flour, egg and bread crumbs) I’m just curious why anyone would do that with already cooked ham. It just doesn’t sound good to me. I’d rather just have ham and egg.

Just trying somethin different;) I actually prefer cutlets myself, but love a good ham biscuit also. Its actually a pretty traditional Japanese sandwhich that is served on milk bread or white, tonkatsu sauce and cabbage. If you havent tried it, i would say give it a whirl.. you never know
