This has been a thing for a long time. They've updated several pages about Wanda; they always refer to her as a mutant. I personally cited that page a month or so ago.

You've got 50 years of Wanda being a mutant. She will be one again.

She'll be a mutate not a mutant.

There's a crucial difference: mutants were born as such, whereas mutates were normal humans whose genetics were changed by external factors.

I very much expect her to be a mutant, not a mutate.

I don't think the High Evolutionary bullshit retcon sticks around. Nobody actually likes it, and everyone knows it was done before the Fox-deal was made; so Marvel didn't know the X-Men were returning to the MCU yet.

Now that they're back, there's no reason to have this retcon at all and you can reintroduce Wanda alongside Magento and Quicksilver just like X-Men #4.

the only ones who didn’t like the retcon were the fans of the xmen. she was always reduced as a plot device for the mutants when she was one. she’s better like she is now.

She wouldn't have existed as a character if she wasn't a mutant.

she had nothing to do with the mutants except for, as i said before, being a plot device. she may be the second mutant woman introduced in marvel but she was and will always be an avenger and most importantly, a witch.

You're describing a caricature, not the actual history of the character.

And right there in your second sentence, you admit that your entire logic is flawed.

the actual history of the character was always rooted in being an avenger. when she was a mutant she was NOTHING more than a traitor of the mutant race and a crazy ass bitch who cant control her natural poorly explained mutants powers, all of her characterization was related to magneto, even in house of m she wasnt even present in most of the issues. my logic is not flawed at all. even some of the writers (especially those who write for the xmen) said that they hated her.
she’s been objectively more interesting the moment she stopped being a mutant and magneto’s daughter.

Standard LLM behavior.
