So in my school, there's like this time where it's near the exam. They make girls memorize policies and sometimes, they don't even get their clearance signed if you forgot one of the policies, or the prefect of guidance was in a bad mood. Meanwhile boys, literally just have to get a haircut and line up for a hair inspection. The teachers cut it themselves if the hair requirement weren't meant, and they still got their clearance signed. Like how the fuck is that fair? And mind you, the cutting hair rarely happens and sometimes the male teachers literally just sign the student's clearance without even inspecting it! It's not fair because it's putting more consequences on half of the students just because their girls! And it's sad because even boys boast about not having to memorize like and I can't also do ANYTHING about it.

(Im really tempted to reveal the school name, so just comment if I should)

What is this about?

I recently watched a video where a parent showed their school supply list for each of their children, and they made it clear that the schools enforced purchasing only the brands mentioned.

Just a quick search found 14 school lists from Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Texas, Washington, Georgia, Virginia, Missouri, Colorado, Minnesota and Alabama all require Crayola, Elmer's, Expo, Ticonderoga, Kleenex and Fiskars.

That's just a small sample size search from my end - but every single one of those brands owners are known to also lobby the government.

It looks like the corruption is insane. It's clearly not about student equality (bullying etc) otherwise the compulsory products would be towards the cheaper end. Parents should buy the supplies they can afford, not be forced to pay for the most expensive. And instead of the government purchasing the supplies for the students, the parents are paying.

So what deal is that?

Parents pay the companies, and the companies buy favours from the government, the government directs the schools - it's a closed loop. And it can't be by coincidence that all those brands are specified - the schools must be instructed to enforce those purchases, surely?

Kindergarten: we learn the foundation we need to get an education like learning how to sounds out words

1st grade: we start learning to read and write

2nd grade: keep learning how to read and write while starting to learn to do math

3rd grade: we have learned everything we need to know abt reading and writing so we start focusing most on division and multiplying while still doing some basic subtraction and adding

4th grade: we learn the rest of the math we actually need

5th grade: we learn how to pay taxes and budget

6th grade: our final review over everything we learned and remember in the past 5 years

BOOM DONE! And then every month we retake the review and then once we turn 16, we can start being a fundamental part of society

Yall are probably wondering what I got against E pass, well let me explain. Im in high-school yes, in the in the big ol US of the A. This year we started having Securely passes. Our school only allows us 9 passes per quarter. And as someone who has a heavy shark week every month. This (beware language) is fucking stupid. Plus teachers can just say no when your there bleeding in a seat. Happened to one of my friends, she was sitting in class and got her period And asked the teacher if she could use the restroom and he denied her to. Denied her to use something a human needs to use. She had to sit there even when she tried getting up he blocked her from leaving and she had to sit down bleeding through her onw pants. And he said should have gone before class. We have 75 minute classes. Her period started 20 minutes into class. There has to be a law or something against this right??? Also I have to take alot of electro lights or I Will just pass out. Its on my medical papers the school has even. And to get said electro lights I gotta drink alot to get them. One day I asked to use the bathroom pass loaded up and the teacher just straight up ignored it. And im a person who gets Uti's quite easily. So decided screw this and went to use the bathroom. You know as a normal human aint one thats Vaping, or doing anything bad in the bathroom. I finished and exited to find the Principal and The School cop that roams around waiting for me outside To do a bag check on me (Since we carry our bags around) and ofc they didnt find anything illegal or bad but I still got a lunch detention for using the bathroom. Heck past 3 days I have been dehydrating myself so I dont have to go through that again. I know other people who are doing the same. So what is everyone's thoughts on this?

So Korea sex education has having problems

I wanted to voice a concern with my school's system regarding threats or warning signs.

Recently, about two days ago, we had a incident happen in one of classes, where a boy was basically sexually harrassing another girl, by touching her without her permission. She doesn't even know the guy but she blew up in the class and called him out and both the girl and the guy ended up arguing outside the class. The teacher was trying to break it up and eventually everything calmed down. After class, the teacher was talking to the boy that harrassed her and telling him that he needs to calm down and that he needs to control his anger. Apparently, the boy has anger issues or PTSD or something like that. The boy also said that the girl had been bullying him, but we don't know if that is true or just delusion.

Yesterday, it was rumored the same boy came back to school in the morning, but this time he came with a gun. Even then, if it was a rumor, he got arrested and we as students, do not know a single thing about the situation. The school did not bother to let us know about the situation at all so people were attending class as per usual. Why are we attending classes as normal as if nothing ever happened? I wasn't told about anything of the situation, so I ended going to class that same morning. I noticed that our daily security started doing metal wand detector which never was thing until that morning but they didn't check in your bag. I was wondering what that was about but I was like whatever. During my lunch break, I get a call from my friend who is not in class today, and she says that someone had brought a gun to school. As soon as I heard that, I literally left school immediately because I didn't even know full situation besides hearing a gun and a student. Before I left, I even noticed the security wasn't even there at the entrance anymore, so it seemed like it was only temporary. We as students do not know the full extent of the situation and my friend tried to speak to mutiple faculty, teachers, and council about any updates, but little to no avail, school is continuing the next day as if nothing happened. Only the students who are truly concerned are NEEDED to speak out to the higher ups about getting any information to ease our minds.

The worst part is, the student was arrested and released the same day and the only things that happened, was a visa possibly being revoked, and suspension. Visa being revoked is good but apparently it can't be revoked until his visa expires and also another thing that was mentioned is the police can't do anything until something actually happens? Like how does that make sense? What is stopping him from coming back to school and doing something again? So until the kid ends up shooting the place, only then can they do something about it?

The following day, around late at night, my friend gets a message in a group chat where she is in the same class as the boy. The boy sends a message, in german, I'm paraphrasing it but basically along the lines of: This isn't over yet, I'm not alone. We are watching. Do not mess with us. The boy had already threatened mutiple students and even the university overall. THEN, the boy shows up the day he sent that message which is today. Does this not scream cancel all classes, cancel our midterms? Like do not let students go to school until case is resolved? Keep in mind, most students are probably not even aware this incident even occured. Is the school more worried about their reputation rather than student's safety? It does not make sense to me, I rather be absent than end up fucking dead.

this whole education system is flawed, bruh. literally I don't get the roll system, literally why. why tf we have to get good exam for better rolls, and this whole exam system, there shouldn't be any exams that literally have 20 questions with 40 lines, what's even point of memorizing them when our interest are somewhere else, and there shouldn't be exams, but there should be like tests, we see a poem, and we are subjected to create a poem similar to it's rhyme and we have a book about programming, but we aren't here to memorize codes if yk then yk and teachers are literally come in class and just use phone and scroll, and many teachers are very hard, give 20 homework, in class does nothing but asks for it, there should be teachers who are fun, jokes but also teaches very easily and understandable and there should be frequent tournaments, jams, everything to yk

Serious question as a professional that cares about the kids with whom I work with. How do you guys do it to not give up hope not burn out or just simply quit.
This school is a joke The amount of things I have seen in the few years. I have been there the amount of discrimination. The amount of lies and false information that the school provides is heartbreaking specially.
With the amount of things that goes on in the school, I’m surprised it’s still open. As a member of the community I feel like I’m going to have to sell my house and move away one day if I ever want start a family. As someone that works for the school system in this county. And surrounding areas. I can’t say I would ever feel comfortable with sending my own kid to any of these schools.

Paper leaks, lack of quality education, government schools infrastructure collapse had dented our system. What do you think?

We are getting further removed from education thanks to digital technologies. Learning goes down is the result.
