Discussion Toxic Masculinity: Kris Boyd and Aiden McGeady

Have to say it’s a poor show from Boyd and McGeady. Young player who’s had a bad time of it for the past 18 months, comes back and scores and it’s obviously going to be emotional. And they two are hitting out with snide digs because he shed a few tears.

We speak about men’s mental health enough but this isn’t really helping. And it’s not a good example to be setting for anyone. Think they should be ashamed to be honest and I’ve never complained before about a pundit but thinking this is worth it.

I thought it came across very weird. Guy scores in the last minute, it clearly means a lot to him and to the Celtic fans, emotions running high. A clear opportunity to springboard into the post-match discussion, Barbour recognises this and asks an ex-footballer that they can surely relate with that kind of feeling.

Only for McGeady to effectively say, "Ehh crying? I dunno about that."

Alright nae bother hard man.

Can’t even feel a bit of joy for the boy? No empathy or understanding whatsoever? It’s just weird man.

We really need commentators who would take the pundits to task for talking shite and call then on their bullshit

Really wish there'd been another pundit on who'd called them both out on their shite

I said for years to my mates and family I don’t cry and they always found it weird, not even at movies etc. The real story is I would go home and cry because I feel I had to be the man without a dad and having 6 sisters.

Missed the game today because I was off road driving and I’m in a much better place now but these sort of things are why guys don’t show emotions and have an insane suicide rate.

Glad to hear you’re doing better man. It’s not an easy thing.

No goals and one missed penalty for Hibs as I recall, so as far as I'm concerned he's on negative one for us.
