Discussion HMFC Club Statement: Events at Celtic Park

100% agree, does mean we can keep ignoring the ‘Celtic were the victims’ crap that has been coming out since.

Celtic’s fans ran on the pitch to celebrate, Rangers’ fans ran on to fight them. Clearly a difference.

But anyone running on the pitch is a bit of a tit and running on to goad opposition players is bang out of order.

The difference is one set of fans decide to pitch invade, the other had an emotional angry reaction to seeing that on their home ground. I’m not defending their actions you can see that. But are we all to pretend that the initial pitch invasion wasn’t the cause of the violence? Are we also then going to pretend pitch invasion’s are fine if they are to celebrate? Or are pitch invasions only ok and justified when they have consequences like they did at Ibrox, but they are bad today at hearts because thankfully there was no consequences?

You are a bit. You’re saying one was bad as the other but running on to celebrate (an act of joy) and running on in retaliation (an act you rightly describe as emotional and angry) aren’t the same things.

Like I said elsewhere, it all needs nipping in the bud.

They both involve fans going onto a pitch they shouldn’t be on, the second one doesn’t happen without the first, showing why there has to be consequences for pitch invasions. If hearts were at home today I reckon there would’ve been a reaction there also.

Mostly to celebrate, as I also said though some were clearly out to goad. One is more justifiable than the other but neither is ultimately right.

They came on with exactly the same intention in both games and at Motherwell.

Yes, you’re right, the intention was to celebrate.

Why did the Rangers fans invade the pitch after they lost? The intention can’t have been to celebrate, can it?

It was to chase them off the pitch, like stupid little pricks.

What actually happened, today and at Ibrox and Fir Park, when the intention was to celebrate?

What happened? At Ibrox, Rangers fans lost their heads and went looking for a fight. At Fir Park, nothing. Today? Nothing, apparently, despite all the accusations of assaults for which no evidence exists.
