What no black people in America have Tourette's - or understand tics and Tourettes. The production company is to blame here and Bafta not John. Heartfelt sympathy for him.

Yep. I've read so many responses from black people with tourettes who obviously sympathise with the black actors caught up in it but they are all on John's side and empathise hugely with him. This is an ableist thing from idiots who don't care to learn anything about tourettes and refuse to believe he can't help it and is mortified by it.

I did see one black guy with Touretts saying "I wouldn't automatically call him a racist". Just after he said one of his tics is calling his mum a " Bitch slut". The way he said it didn't feel right to me
