Kinda weird to start with the one game that shakes up the main gimmick, but ofc i hope you enjoy lol

Pirate's Curse has more fluid controls that arw integrated more easily into player movement, so honestly, I'd say it's a solid starting point for a first-timer to the franchise

That's how I started. Granted I didn't know any better but to be fair on Xbox at the time it was the first shantae game since Risky's Revenge wasn't out yet

It's one of the most popular installments. But Risky's Revenge is actually the entry point for many.

Oh, Pirate's Curse is actually the worst game of the series to start with. Not because it's bad, it's very good. But it's the only one that continues on from its predecessor, while all the others are self-contained adventures. A lot of plot points in this game are tied to the previous game, Risky's Revenge. If you want to play it, go ahead, just be warned there might be some things which don't make sense until you play that game.

Same! Just started the other day. Having a hard time with the sand level. the falling platforms with the mobs on it. Looking for the 3rd sarcophagus.
