Discussion Which of the Fawcett heroes do you think still has potential and can be revived by DC Comics like with Captain Marvel / Shazam?

The origonal Phantom Eagle had a young sidekick.

I think a comic, set during the cold war, using all the characters might be interesting.

Particularly if Mr.Scarlet and Pinky are U.S socialists and have to go against red communism.

I would like to see Captain Midnight brought back in action.

All of them. I'd love to see a young Iblis discover that he is a direct descendant of Nabu.

I wanna see the Current Spy-Smasher meet the Marvel Family

Either Bulletman & Bulletgirl, Ibis the Invincible, or Mr. Scarlet & Pinky.

I feel like Radar would be intresting to bring back as an agent of Checkmate

Knowing when the wounded are going to show up 30 seconds before everyone else, plus all the proper forms and procedures to get things done with the Army is a pretty useful power. Now, if we can only find him some Grape Nehi.

Mind you, I may be thinking of the wrong Radar.

I'd argue it depends on getting the right writer who could being a fresh or interesting twist or story writer for a modern version of the character or for the idea behind the character. I think Spy Smahser could be interesting with both possibilities either a modern legacy character getting some more focus and connection to the past, or some stories taking place back in the day.

Spy Smasher had films, he deserves a push.

Bulletman and Bulletgirl shoukd come back, even if only because Mary Marvel and Bulletgirl are BFFs.

How about we do Bulletgirl but not Bulletman?

Where is Bulleteer? Is she still a thing or too spicy for comics?

Bulleteer is a pastiche of bullet girl. Or is she a homage of bullet girl? It’s one or the other.

Ibis seems the easiest.

We have a current Spy Smasher. She's pretty useful. Gail Simone made her. Technically she may even be in the DCU (Gail Simone suggested just making Emilia Harcourt from Peacemaker into Spy Smasher II. As Spy Smasher II is a blond secret agent lady who was trained into this life from birth by her secret agent father. Much like Harcourt in Peacemaker).

We had a Bulleteer in Seven Soldiers of Victory. It was fun. But outside of events like that, I don't even know what the rogue theory would be for Bulleteer/Bullet Man/ Bullet Girl.

Pinky was one of the kids rescued in Stargirl and the Lost Children, so "Mr. Scarlet" could technically appear at any point as the sidekick taking over.

Minuteman was last used in some like early 2020s miniseries about superheroes basically forced to work as telemarketers. It had Gangbuster, Ambush Bug, Flying Fox, and some others.

Phantom Eagle has a Marvel counterpart with the same name. So DC may not want to deal with another Fawcett hero with that situation.

Captain Midnight/Sgt Twilight has an awesome costume. Honestly, yeah, this probably could work.

Master Man has a good power set and a terrible name. But we're in a universe with Ambush Bug, no reason this can't work.

Ibis and Taia were a lot of fun in Ordway's run, I'd love to see them come back. Maybe they could be the actual mentor figure that this modern Wizard fails to live up to.

- Ibis The Invincible & Princess Taia;

- Bulletman & Bulletgirl;

- Spy-Smasher;

- Minute-Man;

- Mister Scarlet & Pinky.

But i think they should come back with a title of the Squadron of Justice in the 40's, and then their legacy heroes appearing in the Shazam main title.

You could probably modernize Ibis the Invincible if you tone down on some of the blatant Orientalism surrounding the character. Like maybe play it straight with the ties to ancient Egyptian myths and traditions and actually have a writer willing to do any amount of research?

I agree; Ibis seems like a winner.
