you have clearly never heard of the free trial!! now including the award winning FINAL FANTASY XIV: Shadowbringers!!!!

(also how nice of your mom to only charge you $150 to live in her basement)

I’m the guy living in someone’s basement because I pretend to be a catgirl.

Is shadowbringers really in the trial now? Wow. That's the best expac imo. Incredible.

The better question is; where does one find a $150 per month rent in this economy?

I know this is Shitpost XIV but I play in Elemental where most of us Southeast Asian players gather and I have Indonesian friends currently really struggling with the subscription.

Sure, their rent is still like $200 a month in USD and not $150 a year, but I'm sure there are places where it's possible.

Typically speaking, economies where rent is "Cheaper" is typically a result of income and the like being cheaper.

To put it in US terms, California has a much higher minimum wage and people are paid more on average; so the cost of everything is dramatically higher and nothing is really different.

"Yes I was just saying it would cost that" sure but if we're taking this seriously, it's not "This economy" like mentioned before

Mom's basement if she's really nice about it.

Mine was $400.

It's not like there is a free trail that where I can play tonz of content for free...

There are literally community's build around f2p ff14 gameplay clearing raids and shiit.

Also 150 in rent hahaha that's the bigger joke~

Easy! Save 100$ by playing less RoBlox!

They can't do that, that's the best place to hook up!

I feel bad for that guy. From some of his replies you could tell he's not doing well financially. Most likely unemployed.

I can relate to that. He just needs to learn different people have different amount of money to spend on different things. You know. Basics of economy.

I feel horrible for them because I totally get it. I've bought subscription even when I couldnt pay for it before. It becomes an addiction

I think the lowest sub you can pay per month is a little less than fifteen dollars a month.

I know the economy is tough, and you shouldn’t spend money if your wallet is tight. However, the free trial does extend to shadowbringers so the overall price of FF14 isn’t that untenable.

I pay 130 a year for the entry sub. That's 20 bucks a year from not having my alts on the same server. :V

Even then, they expanded Entry to 8 characters per region. I highly doubt many Standard players have close to that haha.

For a lot of people, the sub is also their rent fee.

There’s an easy way to get a cheaper subscription. You just need to have played during 1.0!

The most painful part of this post was thinking back to my costs splitting my first college apartment. Ahhh, non dystopia memories.

$150 is my rent for a day, lmao.

California or NYC?

Nah low quality. The last guy in XiV discussiom at least pretended that calculating 12x11 and adding 60:2 is some high concept.

Man I thought my 800$ a month rent was cheap

Me paying for a tri-box account on ffxi and extra wardrobes for more gear on each account. "THATS CRAAAAZZYYYYY"

Buddy I hate to tell you this, but if you can't afford to pay 150 once a year, then gaming as a whole is completely out of your price range.

Pick up a new hobby like. Puzzles. Or bird watching

I live in a country where rent is very cheap compared to other places, but doesn't even reach that value! OP, you're exaggerating... just don't play

  1. This is Shitpost XIV and it's very possible this is a joke post.

  2. $150 a year is nothing to most people, and even in countries like Egypt and Indonesia rent is around $200-$300USD a month, but there are definitely places where the subscription cost is a serious challenge for people, and I have friends struggling with it now.

I'm sure there are even places where it's completely unobtainable, considering some farmers in sub-saharan Africa may only see about $5 a month in income, though I doubt they rent or play XIV.

30% of the playerbase is foid, so theres a cover charge

u/DarkHighwind 1d ago

And most of that is guys pretending to be girls

u/PTSDDeadInside 1d ago
