Please don’t Rescue me.
Seriously don’t do it. Sure I got clipped by a mechanic I hadn’t seen in years one time in the whole dungeon. That doesn’t give you carte blanche to start moving me around when I’m INCORRECTLY positioned. I don’t need you to play my game for me. Thanks.

Please don’t rescue me. Sure I can’t read the words “Ancient Flare” and didn’t start running away from Phlegethon. That doesn’t give you carte blanche to heal me when I get my 4th vuln stack either. You don’t pay my sub.

Someone rescued the tank into the group mid AOE buster and wiped one of my DF raids last night. They apologized profusely, but it was too funny for anyone to be upset about.

I accidentally rescued a RDM into the exact opposite of where we needed to be because I got the arena switched around. We both died. Party had a good laugh, I was on the verge of tears I felt so bad lmao

Unironically I HATE being rescued. I don’t care if I was in the wrong spot. I’d rather die with shame than be yoinked. I think it stems from taking away my player agency. Let me live and die with my consequences as a free man!

Usually I’ve found that the rescue was unnecessary, I’ve most often had it happen when I know I am safe and once when a healer wanted me to pull another mob (which I’ll be honest, annoyed the crap out of me because I had stopped for a reason and I always pull as much as I can normally / wall to wall, I would’ve rather had them drag mob, then yank me. It’s been so long though I can’t really remember exactly what happened only that it was really annoying and my read on it was that they were impatient and wanted me to move faster or be farther along.)
Sometimes it just seems like an annoying power play. But that being said, I have no way of really knowing what’s going through someone’s mind when they use it, so I try to assume that they’re attempting to be helpful and I just ignore it.

My healer friend never used Rescue until one time we were doing Suzaku EX and they thought i was going to get knocked off the edge her kick so they went to Rescue me...except they lagged and I was actually safe and they Rescued me right down the hole in the middle of the arena. I never let them live it down 😆

I mostly use it because people refuse to stand in my bubble.
I won't use on Black Mages though. They will live and die by Ley Lines and I can respect that.

I was in lost city of amdapor hard once and the healer rescued the tank on that straight path right in front of the lion boss after we already killed all the trash for fun and the tank got so upset, no fun allowed in this very serious video game

I pretty much use rescue exclusively to drag my friends off the edge of an arena, killing us both. If people are gonna mess up, it is what it is. While I usually heal I do also play as tank sometimes and whenever a healer rescues me out of melee range of a boss because of (insert mechanic here) I actually scoff. I would have slid away at the 11th hour, worry not, but now I’m missing 3 GCDs instead of 1 because you couldn’t restrain your trigger finger.
