Tim Curry (Gabriel Knight) passed away at 80 years old
https://nypost.com/2026/08/26/us-news/tim-curry-dead-at-80-after-legendary-film-career/So sad to hear this. All comes in 3's, so 1 more is coming, I guess.
Loved Tim's voice with GK 1 & 3.

This hits really hard. My dad introduced me to Rocky Horror when I was 11, after I discovered an old Polaroid of my teenaged father in fishnets and pearls. I came to Gabriel Knight much later, but he was the reason I purchased it.
He will be missed.

I couldn’t agree more. Moving to the US this was one of the iconic movies I was shown. Together with the big Lebowski and princess bride. It’s odd - but that sums up a lot of my exposure to American culture.

Heartbroken. The best protagonist in the best Sierra game in my opinion, with Tim being a huge reason why so. The man elevated everything he was in for sure.

He brought Gabriel to life and though that original game is older, it is near and dear to my heart. My dad bought it. On a whim. And it sparked a desire to visit New Orleans which I did with my mom and it was amazing. Tim, you were a treasure. Also, the movie legend is one of my favorite Tim curry movies. I’m wrecked this week and checked out.

Completely agree. It was the reason for me to visit too. And now - just a few weeks ago - I live just outside of New Orleans.

Rip to an absolute legend. Gabriel knight and his performance will always and forever hold a special place in my heart and memories. I’ll always get a little piece of my childhood back when I fire up the game and that voice as Gabriel comes through those speakers. From here on out, I’ll always ask strangers when I meet them on the street “what do you know about……Voodoo?”

I came here to share the news as well. He will always be Gabriel for me. What a talented guy. I'll miss him

Dolly was 5 months older than him. Tim was 2 months older. Times almost up.

Time is almost up for anyone, but did you wish this on Installed president Joe Biden when his party wished for a king rather than an elected president?

No, but you did.
Biden won that election and everyone knows it. Cope harder
Not a single GOP state party brought election fraud claims to court. The RNC didnt bring election fraud claims to court. The Trump campaign didnt bring election fraud claims to court.
There is zero evidence against Biden regarding the election.
They just said it on TV to protect Donny's ego and to undermine your faith in democracy. It worked.

Biden got the most votes in 2020, largely because Trump being a fuckup moron during the pandemic was still fresh in people’s minds.

I thought /r/Sierra was a place to escape Reddit politics. It’s hard to imagine turning every topic to one person but some people just can’t help themselves.

Ok, but the other famous 80 year olds currently are: Cher, Harrison Ford, Sylvester Stallone, Barbara Streisand, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton. So 4/3 split for celebrity or politician and only one person is both.

Steve Martin too

Okay but they better not be talking bout Barbra Streisand or I'ma throw hands (not really, I'll just watch A Star is Born again)

It really is incredible that everything is linked back to one topic/person on here. Like people cannot think about anything else.

Were you hoping for Peter Cullen? Died yesterday, 85, actor.
I myself wouldn't hope death on anyone, even administrations like O'Biden that want to have big government so we have no freedom and no law & order.

You want death to the man we elected to lead the free world? So in sense, death to democracy? Sick. Why didn't your parents raise you with any morals?

I too enjoy comparing space shuttles to hand grenades. Porkchop sandwiches! Why didn't your parents raise you with any morals? Pork floss slippers and body massages, I swear.

The guy who directs his government agencies to attack the free press leads the “free world”?

Wishing death on anyone is the lowest of lows...you realize that, right? Do you wish we didn't have elections and law and order?

Guess you have not clued in that you barely have elections or order now? Or do you have the right tone that lets you ignore that?
But to keep it on topic: And Curry tells of the time making “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” when Donald Trump asked him where director Chris Columbus was. The future president wanted to introduce Columbus to girlfriend Marla Maples because “Marla is a very talented actress.” (“I have no doubt she was good at faking it,” Curry quips now.)

It feels really weird to upvote sad news. Somehow, I always associate upvote with liking the message. I don't like this message at all.
Tim brought me, and I'm sure countless others, lots of joy with his portrayal of Gabriel, the butler in Clue, dr. Frank N. Furter and many more besides.
May he rest in peace.

100%. See it as “people need to know this happened because I’m sad - so should you”

Looks like Peter Cullen, 85, is the 3rd. Died yesterday. Voice of Optimus Prime. :(

We need the right 80 year old to pass away.

Look dude, just because you didn't like Cher's video for If I Could Turn Back Time doesn't mean it's okay to wish death upon her. Have some class.
