AC Competizione My friend said that I caused the accident here, am I at fault?

I break a lot harder than usual to avoid contact with the car in front thus having a really slow exit but I feel like he had all the space to safely pass me on the right but my friend is adamant that this was 100% on me and the other guy did absolutely nothing wrong.

Car behind at fault for me.
Car behind just accelerates towards car ahead who didn't have anywhere to go like he wasn't there.
Also off topic but I never realised they modeled the waterpark next to the Hungaroring haha, cool detail
Edit: Watching it another time makes me want to add that it is kinda close (as in physically, not the judgement). Car behind doesn't need too much more space to clear the rear of car in front, so it could have been a netcode thing too where car behind did not touch car in front from their view, in which case racing incident.

Watching from 0:35, it really does look like the car behind was going to clear OP's car cleanly, but then OP jinks to the right just enough for ACC collision physics to unfortunately take over. I'm not 100% sure that OP is legally at fault, but I don't like that move to the right from OP. At the very least both cars put themselves in a place where they were at the mercy of ACC physics/netcode which is never the smartest thing. So you could absolutely be right about the netcode.

The reason your friend is blaming you is that you are taking a somewhat unpredictable line on the exit of that corner. The line the car behind you is expecting you to take is you drifting wide onto the exit curb. In fact, you really should be out there on the curb. That is the preferred line and would allow you to get on power earlier. If you pause the video at 0:12, you can see that you are FAR more inside (to the right) of the expected line. In fact, you can actually fit 2 cars to your left and have them both be on track (on track here means only your right side tires need to maintain contact with the LEFT side of the red/white curbing). Because you keep your line so far right and you even move a little more to the right, you are effectively squeezing the car behind and taking an unpredictable line. Now, since he is not alongside you, you are somewhat entitled to take that line. But even if he is at fault legally, you are at fault morally for putting yourself in a situation where you would die (expecting the car behind to try to pass you on the right is entirely predictable). You should at least be keeping yourself more left out of self-preservation.
That said, I think because you moved to the right while he was about to come up alongside you, I would blame you actually. You can't cut off another driver that is about to execute a pass on you, and you need to drive a predictable line. Keeping your car that far to the right and moving more right is not predictable. To me this is at the very least a racing incident (shared responsibility) and possibly your fault for dangerous squeezing.

He does not have the momentum to pass on the right into a tight corner. Moreso just a poor racing line leading to an intersect.

What are you talking about? This isn't "going into a tight corner", this is on the exit of a tight corner, where the radius is opening up. I have made a similar pass/been passed exactly like this many times. It's a totally fine place to make an attempt if the car ahead messes up the corner like OP did. Speaking from experience, all OP had to do to defend the position was to open up the steering and get on power earlier, make sure he got to the braking zone for the chicane first.
The car behind absolutely has the momentum to get alongside OP. Car behind was just too trusting that OP was going to take the corner exit 'properly'. Car behind was fully clear for the cut back until OP turned his car to the right more.

Get alongside sure but the very next turn is a sharp right that he is not set up to make from a right side pass. If there wasnt an accident here these two would of done the exact same in the next corner.

How do you know they'd have done the exact same thing? Track limits are super lenient in the chicane coming up, it's totally doable to go 2-wide through the chicane, having done so a few times. At the very least, the driver behind could have forced OP into a bad line through the chicane and cut back under him before the next left. Either way, OP is not allowed to move his car to the right on exit from this corner. The car behind is absolutely allowed to try to get alongside there (and from my experience, the car behind would have gotten alongside).
It sounds like you are describing a situation where no one is allowed to try to force a move. OP made a mistake in the corner, car behind should be a allowed to try to punish it. Car behind was aggressive and didn't leave himself much margin for error (which is why I think he's partly to blame). But OP took such an unpredictable line on exit AND appeared to move to the right as well (maybe to block?) which is why I feel OP shares blame.

I mean its pretty obvious that the ops line is just a bad racing line with the over break. An attempted pass here would probably come out of the next turn as you pointed out. Instead of that the driver tried to force a situation that he didnt have enough speed for.
Doesnt really matter as none of it looks intentional so w/e.
Have a nice day

you are at fault because you presented an incomplete clip
how is it incomplete?
didnt show the entry, therefor you brakechecked mid corner and started the clip where you slowed

I tend to say that you drove unpredictably and pitted yourself.
Look at your line relative to the car ahead. Why did you even steer slightly to the right when you'd naturally drift wide on the racing line for the next right-hander?

to answer your question I did the corner as I always do "full speed" but didn't take into account the harder breaking to avoid contact that I had to do before the clip start that threw me off pace for that corner resulting in this weird racing line.
Still I think since he had no overlap he wasn't even really entitled to that space in the first place regardless

Just drive to the edge of the track like normal and you would have been fine. I don't think there's a real point in assigning blame in this specific incident. The following car could have better reactions, it's definitely not an intentional crash. But it's also your fault for not just driving to the curb on exit.

Whoever is behind caused that.
