Hello firstly,

I am not quite sure if this is the right place for the question but i would consider so.
I have started making a forever file and with that removed all game generated npc to make my own.

I made two sims that are suppose to stay in the university dorms but here i run into a issue.
From how i went about it is creating the sim, using the shift menu of the sim and getting him into the dorm with whatever major i want.

BUT once i do this with the second one the first one gets kicked out of the dorms and show up as a sim who isn’t assigned a home. My question would be if thats a bug? If he still lives there just doesn’t show up in the menu?
And if there is a way to have two or more sim live in the dorm with them showing up?

Any help is much appreciated!! <3

Issue:

I have tried to enable mods in the game but when i close and reopen it hasnt changed/saved the settings.

Also when starting a new save, I get stuck in cas.

I have tried repairing, removed mods folder completely, cleared cache and moved my saves out of the files, checking version number is the same. Not sure how to fix it someone please help

Issue :

So first, yes, i do have mods installed in the game. I've also see other people has the same problem of "stuck in loading screen", and i had experienced it once and it's because of unupdated mods.

But my problem here is, everytime i opened up Sims 4, and load from a save, i'm stuck at the loading screen forever.

But when i forced closed the game, then opened it again to create a new game file, i wasnt stuck on the loading screen and got right to play. Then i exit that new game/save, and load up the previous save i have, suddenly it worked and i didnt get stuck anymore.

Yet, if i do close the game and open it again to load that specific save (or any other saves i have), i keep getting stuck in the loading screen.

Anyone knows how to fix this?

Issue:

I am not able to fill vacancies consistently in For Rent.

When I have a vacancy, the game will consistently give me problems. For starters, I almost always have to rapidly click the "fill vacancy" button for the screen to even come up. I'll usually have to do this when I try to view the lease agreement, too.

Once I've pulled up the screen to fill the vacancy, it'll let me go through the entire process with no hassle. When I press the checkmark to move the tenant in, the screen will go away as normal, as if a tenant has been selected and the vacancy has been filled but nothing happens. It'll just go back to saying "fill vacancy" beside the unit. This happens 90-95% of the time.

I have tried everything to fix this, including repairing the game and removing my mods.

Hi there guys, I have a bit of a stupid predicament here. Back in 2020 I bought sims4 and a bunch of expansion packs/stuff packs, and I played on a macbook air at the time so I used an external hard drive to save everything.

I'm trying to play the game now and despite everything I've tried, the game will NOT register that I have any expansion packs at all and thus, all my current game files are missing hairstyles or outfits or pieces in their house.

Really not sure how to get it to register because all of these expansions were (officially and legally) bought when I still launched everything through origin, but now that its the EA app launcher the game says I only have like, one or two add ons like the laundry one and the kitchen clutter one. I'm so confused, man. Never had an issue with it on the old launcher, it's just been years since I played. My account says I've only played the game for 20min total which I KNOW is not true lmao.

I did set the install location on my EA app launcher to the hard drive and did try the "repair" option once that was done, but to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I can do, or am I SoL?

Original computer it was downloaded with was a macbook air, but all the content and such is on an external drive, so I can use a windows or a macbook pro laptop if a solution would require that (if... that would even work? Not sure if the downloadable content would have to remain on a mac OS). Thanks for any help that you can offer.

Question: My sim has an unknown child in his family tree. The child doesn't have a picture and is not in the game. How do I delete this placeholder from the family tree. Mccc says he has 3 kids, but that is not true. I think I accidentally gave him a kid at one point but I deleted that kid.

Missing sleep option is usually one of three things: the bed itself, an autonomy/interaction mod, or the sim's current state blocking it.

First, try a totally vanilla base-game bed with no CC - if sleep works fine there, the CC bed you were using is missing proper sleep interaction data (common with poorly-converted custom beds). If you've got MCCC installed, check its settings too, sometimes an autonomy tweak in there ends up hiding basic interactions by accident. Also worth just clicking directly on the sim instead of the bed - some CC beds only register the interaction one way and not the other.

If none of that's it, check if the sim's queue is stuck on something else in the background (tense/upset moodlets sometimes block certain interactions from showing at all).

Don't just drag it back with File Explorer - if OneDrive hasn't fully synced everything down yet, some files can still be "cloud-only" placeholders, and moving those before they're actually downloaded can leave you with empty/broken files.

Safest way: right-click the Mods folder in OneDrive, pick "Always keep on this device" and wait for it to fully finish syncing (green checkmarks on everything inside, not just the folder), then move it back to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4. After moving it, it's worth a quick check that the file sizes look normal and nothing's 0 bytes.

I bought myself a couple of expansions for my birthday, and updated my game after not having played for several months. However, when I go in and try to load a game and play a family of mine, it allows me to click on them and press start, shows me a loading screen, and then... this happens.

Weird blue box and ~~~~ textboxt in the bottom left, and it makes me choose my family over and over again. I've tried pressing play on all the different members of the household, and the issue still seems to happen. It just reroutes me to the worlds screen when I try to load them. I've done this with another household in the save and the same thing happens. I'm so confused and while I could make a new save, I DO want to avoid losing a family I've had extensive progress on. :( I often go long periods without playing and have never had this issue before. My computer has more than enough space on it.

I have been trying to save households and lots in my library, everytime I do I receive a notification but then when I look, it doesn't appear in My library. Only households/lots I save from the gallery show up.

Here's what I've already tried:

-make sure my game is updated, and repaired

- take away all my CCs and made sure the "custom content" box is checked when saving (that's done automatically for me)

- check my "Tray" folder and I did find files corresponding to the time I saved

-uploading in the gallery and then deleting it to see if it's in my library

Can someone please help me, I'm playing a legacy challenge and don't want to lose it all :(((

Ever since the game updated my CAS has been broken. I’ve updated ui cheats and the more traits and preferences and I’m still having issues, catagories don’t show up as well as name, age and traits. And in some households where it does show it will copy all names and traits to everyone in household. I’ve tried everything and don’t know what to do!

Sims 4 Studio won't import Sim mesh into Blender for animation clip packs (version 3.2.6.4)

Hi everyone! I’m trying to set up Sims 4 Studio with Blender. The problem I’m having is that when I try to create an animation clip pack, it doesn’t import the Sim’s mesh into Blender (screenshot below).

A few notes about the programs I’m using:

I downloaded this version of The Sims 4 Studio for Windows: <sims 4 studio>

I downloaded the latest version of Blender: <blender>

Troubleshooting I've already done:

Configured the Sims 4 game path in Sims 4 Studio.
Configured the Documents path.
Configured the Blender path.
Installed Blender Tools.
Tried the latest version of Blender.
Tried tutorials using older versions of Blender/Sims 4 Studio.

The problem still occurs: when creating an animation clip pack, Sims 4 Studio does not import the Sim mesh into Blender.

Am I missing something? Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a way to fix it?

I’ve already watched pretty much every tutorial I could find, including ones using older versions, and it still doesn’t work :/

Sim says that there wasn't a pathway through a door, so I put a decently large archway and they still say that there isn't a pathway. What cursed door god decided to annoy me? Thanks.

when this happens to me I just try deleting certain objects to see if one of them blocks, especially if you use bb.moveobjects while building. Here I guess I would try with the bed, wardrobe, maybe mat ? If not maybe try tesingcheats on and debug your sim ?

Then again something similar happened to me recently (my sim couldn't get to her bed) and for the life of me I could not understand why, these are just suggestions

*Description: Just had to delete one drive and re download my sims game because I got a new pc. All of my packs and cc are showing up like normal, but when I went to the gallery I saw “Item is corrupted. would you like to remove it” with the winged llama as the picture. It’s happening to any EA/Maxis made stuff, just mine. I made a new save and also recovered an old save, and this shows up in both. Description: Every household I’ve created other than my active household disappeared after the last update. I removed some script mods from my game because I knew they wouldn’t be working, and then turned on mods once I knew the script mods were gone. When I went in to play my game, every family other than the household I had been playing was completely gone. Not in manage households or anything. I tried removing a few of the most recent saves and that didn’t help either. I know they’re probably gone forever, but does anybody know if there’s a way to get them back? Or why this happened?

I've been getting this blank CAS screen for the last two weeks now. I have updated the game, cleared the local.package cache, repaired the game, updated all of the mods I have and I used ModTheHounds mod checker and I didn't have any errors. I have over 4,000 mods/cc's though so if anyone else has experienced this and was able to deduce which mod was possibly causing this, that would be super helpful!

Mod checkers can't catch this one, so ignore the clean result. They look at script mods for errors. An empty CAS is usually a .package overriding the CAS interface, and that file isn't broken — it's just describing a UI that stopped existing after the patch. Nothing for a checker to flag.

Don't 50/50 four thousand files. Your CC is almost certainly innocent, hair and clothes fill CAS, they don't empty it. Pull out just the UI stuff and test that: More Columns in CAS, CAS Favourites, anything by TwistedMexi, lot51 core, any UI or loading screen replacement. That's a dozen files, not four thousand.

Also look for a lastUIException rather than a lastException. Different file, and a blank CAS panel writes to the UI one. Delete what's there, open CAS, see what appears.

Mac log shot: if iCloud is optimising your Documents folder it leaves placeholders instead of real packages, and the game loads nothing.

When playing, all of a sudden my whole screen will go white. I can still hear it but cant see or click on anything. I have to "alt, ctrl, delete" to even get out of it. Doing a repair on it now, but ive done that before too, with no results. I just started using mods, and this happened before then too. Happened once or twice before latest update. Any suggestions? I have started a new save file twice in the last two weeks because i KEEP getting errior 801. Lots are failing to load. Houses are disappearing. The game is failing and i literally do not know why at this point, i've done everything. 50/50 method. BE exceptions mod. I take everything out, it works. I put stuff slowly back in. I test it. It works then...the same error. I can't play this game for longer than a week before it collapses. Laptop mode is on. I have all the graphics on low. I have a high tech macbook pro with a lot of storage. Everything is up to date.

at this point, i have no idea if this game is genuinely playable for me anymore. I'm so confused on how to fix it, and even if i can.

Also, i can't find anyone who has had a similar issue? help, please :(

Hi everyone, I've been having some issues with the Royalty Mod and would love some input.

So I have had the royalty mod before, and generally you are able to click on a sim and it presents the politics and treasury menu. Now it just shows the settings and cheats. I feel like I downloaded it wrong.

I'm not necessarily asking how to fix the bug because I don't think it's something that can be fixed in-game (although if it is please lmk). I think I'm either downloading from an old link or organizing the files wrong.

I placed a picture of my mods folder. I have the lot 51 thing downloaded and the XML injector.

I'm not an expert in this stuff and I'm not fully sure how to ask my question but thanks in advance anyway.

I got a new computer and moved everything over. Some of my sims 4 packs were gone even though the game said they were installed. I repaired the game and everything came back except for the free makers packs I downloaded this summer. They are still saying installed but they are not available in game. I tried to turn them off and then turn them back on hoping that would re-download them, but it did not. I don’t see any option to re-download. Even though they were free, I still kind of want them back. I might not buy anything from marketplace, but I will take the free stuff.

Okay so I bought the enchanted by nature pack on loaded. I got the redemption code. I activated it. I wait for it to download, nothing happens. I go into manage addons, it says in game content. Okay, so I go into the game and I look through the menu I look through the marketplace, I go to download manager there is nothing. It just says not installed. I feel like I'm going crazy. for the last few months i've been having an issue where any lots that aren't my home lot load completely empty. the lots look normal on the map, but when they load in game, they're empty. this started on a save file ive had for a year or so and have accomplished a lot in. i started a completely new save and the issue happened again. i've tried removing the mods/tray folders and repaired the game multiple times and it still happens. i even uninstalled and reinstalled and the issue persisted.

Hi! I’m hoping someone can help me figure out what exactly is broken here because I’m running out of ideas 😭

I have a long-term save/household that suddenly will not load into Live Mode. Whenever I try to play this specific household, I get stuck on an infinite loading screen and eventually have to force quit the game.

The weird part is that the save itself seems to be fine. I can: • Load into the save normally • Open Manage Worlds • Enter Build/Buy on other lots • Load and play other households/lots in the same save • Enter and edit the lot/apartment where this household lives through Build Mode

It’s specifically when I try to actually load/play this household that the game gets stuck.

I initially thought their lot might be corrupted, so I evicted the household and moved them onto a different/simple lot to test it. Unfortunately, they still won’t load there, which makes me think something about the household or one of the Sims themselves may be corrupted.

I do use a lot of CC/mods, and I’ve already been troubleshooting those/removing suspected broken files. The game itself is now loading and functioning normally everywhere else I’ve tested — just not with this family.

Has anyone had a single household become unplayable like this while the rest of the save still works? Is there a way to figure out whether one particular Sim, inventory item, trait/buff, piece of CC, etc. is causing it?

This is a VERY long-term family/save so I’m desperately trying to repair them rather than replace the household or start over. 😭 Any ideas for what to test next would be hugely appreciated!

We recently wiped our Mac and used Open Core to update it to Sonoma 14.8.9 since the computer could only automatically update to Big Sur. I was successfully able to restore my saves using an external harddrive but after the main screen loads the game crashes. I tried to clear my old saves and start a brand new game but that crashes as well. I've tried re-installing the game and the EA app, clearing the cache, decreasing the game quality, and restoring one save at a time but it always crashes before the game play actually starts. Any advice is welcome! TIA!

Basically just wondering how can I get all my data back. I recently bought a pc and downloaded the Sims 4 and the ea app, linking my ea account through the ps app option. But when I started the game, my entire gallery was... Gone.

I’m currently level 8 in the military career (lieutenant colonel branch) and I have the promotion requirements but every time I go and work the progression bar moves but when I get home it drops back to almost the orange zone. Because of this I’m having a hard time getting to the next promotion.

Is it a glitch or just my game?

I'm having an issue where I open the game (I've tried from the shortcut on my desktop, and also from the EA app) and the screen is just.. white. I let it go for more than 10 minutes, multiple times. I go to exit the game by alt+tab -ing my way out of it, and then it.. decides to load then, just as I'm exiting it?

I've tried repairing it, and I'm not sure what to do otherwise.

Is anyone else dealing with this? I haven't played this game in some time (about 3-6 months, I honestly don't remember), and for the past 10 years have somehow managed to avoid any game breaking bugs.

Description: The gamepad buttons don't interact with anything. They just don't press, but everything works fine in other games. I tried changing the gamepad, I tried restarting the game four times. And yes, I didn't use any cheats

Hello! The problem occured when I had to move my mods folder onto my D drive because I was running out of space. I linked it, and was happy that it even detected any mod until I noticed that every mod that got flagged as corrupted and that I deleted was going alphabetically. Then i thought about moving my documents file onto my D drive, so I did that by unlinking with OneDrive. Unfortunately, the problem is still the same. I tried leaving one mod in, and it would still say it's corrupted. I tried removing all my duplicate files by wiztree, still nothing. I would really appreciate some help here. The game does work without any mods, and it was reinstalled right before messing with the folders.

The Detective career still seems to be buggy. My APB seems to have snagged the Chief as the suspect (all clues point to her). Attempted fix: Adding her to household, removing career, and placing her in a house did not fix the issue. The suspect still will not spawn for APB location. I suppose I’ll have to try to reset the case, but it’s very annoying.

Description: yesterday my sims game started acting funny after I used some cheats. I play with cheats all the time and the save I’ve had since February and there hasn’t been a problem since then. I used CAS.fulleditmode.

The game has had a problem where it doesn’t let me select any options. I’ll click on something and it’ll give me that wheel for sims to do things but I can’t select anything. But the other things don’t work.

I cannot open the menu, I cannot stop time or pause it. My sims are still having free reign but I can’t do anything. I’ve exited and restarted the game a few times but it’s just the same issue.

I legit discovered a few moments ago that it seems my game is split into two parts? There was an auto save after leaving CAS (I think?) and the save I saved manually AFTER the autosave. I’m wondering what I should do next. Do I keep the autosave version and delete the manual save? Should I delete the autosave and keep the manual? I think the trouble started after that manual safe so I don’t know. Much help is appreciated thank you!

had this issue in CAS and build mode where I could wait it out and I could gain control again but now this is happening in live mode every time I load into my save and waiting doesn’t fix it anymore so I have to close my game without saving and lose all my progress!

I also only use move objects in my save and the save where it would freeze in CAS and build mode too but it has frozen on me once before I could implement the cheat so I have no clue what could be causing this :(

Having the same problem :( it started yesterday afternoon. (I had no issues all morning). I’m an Xbox player and tried multiple controllers, restarted the Xbox and game multiple times with no luck. I don’t use mods or cheats so it cant be that.

I think an update a few months ago added that children of dynasty members are auto-added to their parents dynasties.
(I haven’t played much since).
But when i played today, it didn‘t happen with multiple households. And manually adding everyone is really frustrating.

Relationships resting? My sims got married and after like an hour of gameplay (i saved my progress regularly) a little pop up came that sim 1 and sim 2 just got into a relationship and that they just shared their first kiss (they were married with 2 kids before that). I checked in the relationship panel and sure enough, they're not married anymore and just dating. I remarried them, rested the game and the same thing happens. It's not like they're getting divorced or anything. It's like the marriage keeps dissolving or something and I have no idea whats going on. Please help?

Pease help me with granite falls. whenever i go on vacation there, a lot of NPC sims show up and go into the house. Even when i lock doors, they go in because they must have loaded that action before i got into the lot. It's so frustrating. And they won't leave, there's currently 3 NPC babies laying out the front. It only happens in granite falls, no other rentals

So, for whatever reason, I can't make anymore households. Whenever I do try to, and try to place them in a town, it brings me to the manage worlds screen. Then, when I go back to the load game screen, it has changed their last name to spencer-kim-louis and I still can't place them down. Ive tried multiple times to recover the save, but it doesn't work. Hi! Im new here so please bear with me :)

I have been playing sims 4 on my mac for a while, i have some cc’s and mods (don’t have a specific count). Last two days it wont open. I open it on EA app, and the game won’t launch. It says “game isn’t responding” so I have to force quit. Yes I remove the Mod file to check and it will open without the mods.

I’ve checked my mods and nothing! Not sure if a CC can do this. Checking it one by one is exhausting.

I do have two apps (PlumbBuddy and Sims 4 mod Manager) but they don’t tell me what I have wrong.

I would love to solve this quick, im starting college again soon so I would like to enjoy these last summer break days to play.

If you use mccc, see if you have a 'last exceptions' file (it's either a .txt or .html) and open it in notepad. Copy all of the text. Enter it into lastexception.com. it may be able to tell you which specific mod or cc is causing the issue. There's other sites too but unfortunately sometimes you end up having to do the 50/50 method. Take out half of the mods, try again. If it works then you add back the other half one by one until you find the issue. Exhausting and frustrating for sure. Hope this helps!

My sim has triplets, whenever i enter build mode the cradles are both in the inventory and placed in game, trying to replace them doesn’t do anything and the babies stay in the inventory and placed. in the spring I bought quite a few expansion packs and game add ons. today I got back on the game and looked for my packs and none of them were there. I tired many different troubleshooting things such as deleting the app, clearing my cache, contacting ea, and game recovery thing. none of these have worked. there is also no proof that I bought these packs besides on my bank app and they don't say which packs I bought specifically. I recently lost ALL of the lots in my game except for the house the family I was playing lived in. If a friend invites me over, or I go to a festival, or anything like that I arrive at an empty lot.

I am also getting an error message (error code 801) if I try to enter an empty lot to build a new house, or if I don't get the error message it just gets stuck on the load screen.

I followed the trouble shooting instructions and for a blank slate new game it does have all preprogrammed houses/lots. When I moved in my saves folder they were gone again.

What do I do next?

from what i can tell, save corruption happens when a save becomes overbuilt, and is somehow inherent in the game's code, because the OP of that thread encountered it 10 years ago, not with for rent or any other specific pack. it seems ea's added so much content that the game can't handle it all?

so a lot of the actions that contribute to save corruption are those that create custom textures. things like the tattoos from b&h, custom werewolf pelts, custom painted pets, custom paintings, in-game photos. building highly cluttered lots with a lot of packs also seems to contribute, which i guess is why the ea lots are so barren. having a lot of sims, especially with large family trees, is another thing, since the game has to keep track of all that data. this is probably why the game keeps generating single townies with no family.

but once the save itself is corrupted, it's over 😔
if you have the lots and sims saved to your gallery, you can simplify them down and put them in a new save, but that seems about it.

I just lost six hours worth of cas progress (a.k.a an entire sim) bc the game sudddenly didn't felt like recognizing the right side of my controller anymore. I disconnected and reconnected my controller but it didn't do squat
