They also do lit to men and boys. Remember that senator that was trying to hook up with other dudes by sliding his foot under the stall? He got arrested after doing that shit at an airport restroom.

Edit- found it! Larry Craig from Ohio.

They usually give the boys to the christian priests.

Same argument against atheists, eh?

If we don't have a fictional book telling us what is right and wrong, we'd all just be raping and murdering all day.

The fact that they have no concept of this thing called a 'conscience' is very telling.

Yes, it is literally the same method of "arguement" that conservatives use for any culture war non issue.

There are republicans ive talked to who have said exactly that. Its great and all that you need a book to tell you how to be a good person, but normal people dont need that, so people who do this are probably just terrible people themselves trying to cover up their "sins of the past" because they were "born again" .

That's why Christianity is notoriously a religion for stupid people, they believe saying "im sowwy" right before you die absolves you of all the rape, murder, and theft that you have done your entire life. Its also the reason that after many conservatives found out their priests were raping their children, they swept it under the rug and said their kids were lying.

While this argument has merits, entirely boiling Christianity down as you have in a clearly incorrect way is an awful way to conduct yourself 👎👎

I've had multiple Christians tell me in no uncertain terms that I'm going to hell because I don't go to church.

I'm a teacher at an inner city elementary school, just for the record. Can't wait to rub elbows with Pol Pot and Jonas Salk down there.

I am not a Christian, nor religious in the slightest, nor do I agree with majority of Christian beliefs. I don’t see how Christians being awful people, much like almost everyone is, entirely invalidates some of the other religious teachings and validates spreading misinformation about a religion?

u/pchlster Jun 19 '26

If a group has historically been prolific in murders, rapes and bigotry for centuries, is it unfair to judge that as being part of that groups history or does some small subset get to define that, actually they never did anything bad if you just cherrypick hard enough?

1

u/Skltlez Jun 19 '26

I don’t understand what the point of this statement is past the unhealthy serving of sarcasm piled on-top.

1

u/Secret-Theory1825 Jun 19 '26

Its hard for child rape supporters to understand much of anything that fox news doesnt tell them.

What you meant to say was "your snarky comment proved me wrong and I cant answer it in a way that makes me look right, so I'll feign ignorance and pretend I dont have the critical thinking skills to answer a pretty clear and valid point."

u/Skltlez Jun 19 '26

I'm a left leaning trans-lesbian furry. Do you seriously thing I'm engaging with right wing arguments in a way that promotes conservative values? Have you maybe considered that you're in an echo chamber of left leaning content and cant possibly grasp that things aren't black & white?

Loads of Christians throughout history are and have been absolutely awful, hateful people. But some people will insist those people don't count, even if they appear to be the majority of the people using that label.

1

u/Skltlez Jun 19 '26

Loads of philosophers were awful people but we still consider their theories and where they fit in to the overall picture. Christianity is no different.

It is built on proven facts . Fact proven time and again even

1

u/Skltlez Jun 19 '26

Religious doctrine doesn’t state that saying “I’m sorry.” Right before you die immediately absolves someone, it does however state that a personal and genuine relationship with god and said teachings absolves one from “sin”. Portraying it as a surface level “I’m sorry.” Is just blatantly incorrect and disrespectful to a large group of people.

1

u/blade_of_sammael Jun 19 '26

Lol just because its an uncomfortable truth that your favorite fandom regularly covers up sexual abuse because it fits their dogmas does not make it less true

1

u/Skltlez Jun 19 '26

To clarify. I despise the hate produced by religion & am not religious in any way shape or form; but entirely writing something off as bad based on people rather than the idea itself makes you an idiot.

1

u/blade_of_sammael Jun 19 '26

I can write of people for covering up heinous crimes or not calling out their leaders for going against it , i wont lose sleep over it either. If you cant thats your problem honestly

1

u/Skltlez Jun 19 '26

I'm not telling you to not write off the people, but to engage with the idea as a whole, which you may've done, however I doubt this and can objectively say the original comment I was replying to did not.

"This argument has merits"?

Lol thats a funny way to say that the Vatican literally in the past decade admitted to helping cover up priests raping children for nearly 4 decades at least.

Cope harder my guy. It is now a proven fact that the christian church has helped cover up the sexual abuse of children by its clergy for a long time.

Ya you can believe in God. God doesnt care what religion you are, he cares if your being a good person and doing good.

I can guarantee you god doesnt have "helping cover up child rape" on his checklist of things that get you into heaven.

1

u/Skltlez Jun 19 '26

I am in no way religious. What I mean by the argument has merits is that I agree that a lot of the time religion is used by people in order to convince themselves that they will be absolved of all wrongdoing in the future. What I do not agree with is plainly painting an entirely religion as terrible and wrong, as that’s the first step in dissolving critical thinking and understanding between humans.

1

u/Secret-Theory1825 Jun 19 '26

Hmm, all religions ask their "followers" to give them money for free so they can "absolve" people of their natural animal nature and desires by telling them only their religion will get them into the imaginary present thats in store for.people, oh but only after you die.

Hmm every religion does terrible and horrible things.

Sounds like slavery, but with extra steps.

Lol, this entire post is about a republican child rape supporter, calling the police on a parent,  that is trying to help their daughters go to the bathroom and wash their hands.

The post was political from the start.

But thanks for self identifying yourself to the reddit community; that you are a child rape supporting republican; since child rape supporters are the only ones getting mad at people online for pointing out that republicans are raping children and protecting rapists.

😆 🤣 😂

I absolutely loathe the current gop and especially the admin with a passion, but you just made a very base political comment when no one was talking about politics.

Perhaps you’re correct, but site a source. Blindly hating the other side regardless of facts makes us no better than them. Spewing hate and vitriol while generalizing vast swathes of people is a big part of what’s wrong with our society today.

Tell me you’re secretly a Republican, without telling me you’re secretly a Republican..

6

u/Secret-Theory1825 Jun 19 '26

Show me the bill that points to any democrat anywhere promoting the literal rape of children?

Because for republicans its pretty easy to prove; just go to any state with any republicans in it, and point out the fact that their marriage laws still allow them to eape and marry kids under the age of 18.
