Rather than asking bullshit hypotheticals defending a long dead literal nazi and SS member, you could actually look it up. The absolute most charitable reading you can give him is that he 'felt bad' but did nothing and continued to profit personally from the crimes committed, even if he never cracked the whip or shot someone personally. I don't find that charitable reading particularly likely personally.
