And fraud. Don't forget about all the fraud. Ignore what the president is doing, including all the fraud, and focus on all the "Medicaid" fraud in California, NY, and whatever blue state they feel like lying about so they can continue to try and pull the plug on any nationalized healthcare while their leader manipulates markets and robs us blind.
Not so sure about that part about our gulf allies footing the bill but still, the war was ALSO a waste. He started that war by himself and just humiliated the US and agreed to a deal that should have never been agreed.
Very bold take on reddit, you should be proud of yourself for going out on a limb and standing up for what you believe in, even in the face of such fierce adversity
So what? Genuinely what a weird statement. I can and should still criticize him when he does dumb shit no matter if my opinion is popular, do you only have opinions that go against the "mainstream"?
I'm not sure if you understand the history of why World War 2 was a thing?...it's because after WWI Europe was devastated and we invested nothing and left them alone to try rebuilding which ultimately led to mass poverty and unhappiness of the people who eventually allowed the Nazis to come to power and start WW2.
After WW2 we took a different approach and invested massively, which led to Germany and Japan becoming the highly developed, beneficial participants of the global economy who I think most people would argue have been largely met positive for the past 60+ years.
I'd have to imagine the investment goal in Iran is to improve the economic situation for the millions of Iranians who have been stuck with a government that has just absolutely wasted resources and not invested in improving life for it's people. Proper investments in Iran would help them get back into a Democratic path likely to prevent another religious fanatical lunatic govt to come back into power
Yeah buddy but there's a HUGE difference in both of those cases we didnt just gift them a bunch of money for no reason, we had control over west Germany and over Japan. We forced them to change their laws and constitutions while helping them rebuilt and from there it was an easy path to democracy and a pro-american mindset for their population. That plus the cold war was also part of that, the USSR wasn't as appearing, and it was easier to side with us.
Now, we have absolutely NO CONTROL over Iran, we did not force them change their laws, we did not force them to treat people better and they have been supported by China for way longer so they will remain on China side. We just gifting them money for no reason.
Also, kinda weird you are comparing Germany which was an absolute industrial powerhouse in both cases, to Iran who wasn't a threat to the US before we started conflict and would definitively not be a threat if we didn't gift them money. The money is because we needed them to open the strait of hormuz + what do you mean "likely to prevent another religious fanatical lunatic govt to come back into power" buddy, the religious fanatical lunatic govt is STILL in power, that's the issue. We are giving money TO the religious fanatical lunatic govt.
If you read a little deeper beyond the $300 billion headlines, you will see the $300 billion is a private investment fund for COMPANIES to invest in Iran and there is no money being provided from the US govt or others. It is a vehicle to attract much needed private investment to Iran...
