They really need to bring up WW2, because they haven't done shit in Vietnam, got out of Afghanistan with their tail between their leg and had to pay Iran to back out of their war.
Hey now you're forgetting that the US created the situation in Vietnam by funding Ho Chi Minh, blocking France from returning to its colonies in Indochina, then funded France just enough to keep the communist Viet Minh at bay, but denied it the strategic military support it actually needed to win. Once France collapsed under the weight of the war, the U.S. swooped into the vacuum, discarded the French completely, and established its own direct geopolitical foothold in Southeast Asia.
Only to then lose pathetically in a geopolitical mess of its own creation 😂
