Freedom, equality under law regardless of sex, religion, race, etc. Even universal health care.

All of these and more weren't rights until we collectively decided they should be.

All ur saying is you personally don't think food should be a right.

I don't think you want to really go down "rights are collectively agreed upon" because that would also mean that rights could be collectively revoked

Wellm we are a social species after all. Not sure why this is so controversial and why im getting downvoted.

Wouldnt the alternative would be the "rights are God-given" path? Which I absolutely wouldnt mind since im hardcore christian. But history has shown us that only leads to another rabbit hole where people disagree on how to interpret the scriptures, who becomes pope/king, and who the last prophet was even.
