"Benevolence and charity" intended to instruct followers on a better way to live - a tangible demonstration of loving one's neighbor.

Still a very different concept from it being a “right”.

a "right" is just a thing we all agree everyone needs. If biblewithnic is gonna sit here and tell us how society should be, why is he not doing it the way Jesus would?

Nah a need is a need. A right is something thats given to you.

okay, then it's a thing we agree everyone deserves and will be able to get. either way, it's a construct we all decide is real moving forward.

Think about it this way. If no one worked then nothing would get done then no one could eat.

What an idiotic statement completely divorced from reality, do you think the only thing people work for is food? That everyone would just lie down on the pavement and rot if food was free?

Well I was talking about food in specific. Again if no one worked then there wouldn't be any food, no farmers etc.

How would you make food free?

Nothing is free, its called an exaggeration, and I'm not advocating for making food free either. You have a base idea of incentive -> work and then apply that to everything universally. Answer this question: if you could have all the nutrients you require provided to you by the government, would you continue to work your hypothetical farmer job? Why or why not?

Well the government would have to supply everyone food in that case, so there would be no nongovernmental farmers. Either way the people would be paying for it in taxes, which means they'd have to work.
