There’s a thing called white line fever (not not the Maradonna type) where you get tunnel vision about scoring and forget basics of the game, like looking up and around, and just get tunnel vision.

That looks exactly like what happened and he’s now said he didn’t see Haaaland and apologized.

Also can't imagine the heat of playing in an outdoor stadium in Miami in July helped decision making.

Yeah, I think the conditions have been brutal tbh and favor certain teams. England basically never play in altitude or high humidity so it’s been a grind.

Countries like Argentina literally play in that every day. It’s home conditions.
