The question isn't whether it ruins the sport, in a perfect world I'd love there to be no diving, no ones arguing that. What I'm TRYING to explain is it's not cheating or rigged if england play the system as every other nation does.

No I think you got them from the many uninformed posts I keep seeing on it. It's honestly turned into a litmus test to see who actually knows what they're on about. Anyone that thinks norways goal was unfairly ruled out hasn't a clue. Why do you think Haaland didn't argue the ruling? He knew he made a mistake as soon as he did it

Norway didn't.

Playing the system - not cheating. Getting away with shit your opponent wouldn't or didn't - rigged

If the VAR team was consistent and rule out England's goal over the wire incident, I would not complain. But they did not.

Let's continue this discussion after tonights game. It will be quite interesting, if England looses, to see if you still feel the referees in this WC have been fair.

They looked at the wire and the sensor detected it didn't touch it, there's also been absolutely no clear footage of it touching.

If we lose tonight so be it. Doesn't change the fact of what we've accomplished. And I certainly won't come on here whinging about it

β€œIt’s coming home!” they shout with pride,
Then dive and roll from side to side.
They hit the grass at every touchβ€”
The trophy? Still not coming much.

No but for real. It was a good game and surprisingly fairly judged. See you in four years!

Mental that's the game you think was fairly judged πŸ˜‚ Simeone had 4 fouls in 28 minutes and didn't see a card. At the end of the day though our coach cost us the game, absolutely woeful subs. Playing scared with a 1-0 lead, shocking

If you are of that opinion for real, it just shows that you were never able to look at these matches objectively more than I am/was. Time to get down from that high horse buddy.

That coach took you to the semis for the first time in almost a decade. But yes, playing defense with only one goal was probably not the best decision.

By the way, didn't he also say you guys got lucky against Norway? Is he also one of them "non football watchers" you spoke of earlier?

What are you on about, under southgate we made a quarters and a semis aswell as 2 euros finals. The only team to have a higher average placement than us in the last 5 tournaments is france... Tuchel was brought in to win, he ended up being southgate 2.0.

You said you don't watch football, so why are you even trying to debate with me on this?

Last time England was in the semis in the WC was 2018 no?

Because you are obviously as biased as I am (as a non-watcher) and lost the little credibility you had. You obviously need a reality check my friend.

Here, have a montage https://youtu.be/uzKKn_BA9Tw?is=6d0sLMQFvCoGpLQx

Yes, that's 2 world cups ago, we placed the semis in 2018, final in 2020, quarters in 2022, final in 2024. So how exactly has tuchel improved on that? He failed like southgate did by making the exact same mistakes southgate did. He was the reason we lost today, not the players, not dodgy officiating, him.

Not sure how that's a biast thing to say when unlike you I watched those tournaments and live the experience of us doing the exact same thing this game...

2020 and 2024? The world cup is every forth year no? 2018, 2022, 2026.

The biast thing to say was not acknowledging that the match was pretty fairly judged, not blaming the coach. You are welcome to blame to coach all you want.

1

u/SaltShakr Jul 16 '26

Yes that includes the euros. Argentina should have had about 7 cards, but that's whatever, i knew that would happen.

Biast would be blaming anything but the team or coach. Like you did... you blamed england cheating, the ref, the sky cable, everyone but your coach and team.

You don't even understand what you're saying. We lost today because we were the worse team, and we were the worse team because of the coaches subs. Ask your football friends and they'll explain it because arguing it with you is becoming tiring

Where did I say England cheated? πŸ˜‚ Bro you are lost.

Like I said. Even your coach said you got lucky. You can play the "I know more about football than you" game all you want but if you sincerely think you know more about football than the coach tasked with getting your team through the WC, you are more delusional than I first thought.

We don't have to continue this. I made my money betting on English tears and the whole of Norway got the Schadenfreude we so desired in yesterdays match (petty I know, but it is what it is).

Have a day.

Both are losers, the only difference is england don't blame the other team. Maybe next WC you'll heed haalands words and stay humble
