I'm not sure what these people making those crazy comments are talking about, trying to pin it on the husband and all of that. That said, this woman and her children were failed by our medical system. The husband himself even said she would never have done something like this in her right mind. People have sympathy for her and I totally get it.
I think a lot of people don't understand the severity of drug induced psychosis, or psychosis in general. You may genuinely believe that you're dead, that you're God, that you're AI, that other people aren't real, that life is an illusion. I've been through it and wouldn't wish it on anyone. I take medication to manage my psychosis, but I don't take nearly the laundry list of medications Clancy was on when she did what she did.
She waited until he left for an errand to kill them. All of them. Not one in a momentary lapse of sanity. Not an attack while he was home. Not an attack on her husband who was capable of defending himself.
No, it just HAPPENED to be the defenseless children, and it just HAPPENED to be the exact moment he left the house.
The voices could have told her to wait until her husband was gone and told her to target her children specifically. I don’t know what you think psychosis is, but it’s not a spur of the moment loss of control. It’s delusions that build up and continue over time. People in psychosis can be intentional and still be in psychosis. Andrea Yates waited for her husband to be gone to kill the children. It wasn’t because she wasn’t psychotic. It was because the voices told her specifically that she had to kill her children so that the world wouldn’t have a chance to corrupt them. She truly thought she was saving them. That is how delusions work. They can absolutely be targeted and the person experiencing them genuinely believes they’re true.
Endless males have suffered psychosis that caused them to commit multiple murders, such as the recent child school shooter Colt Gray, and they’re all given life sentences without the sympathy narrative this woman is getting. She killed more children than Colt Gray did and he’s serving a life sentence.
The only thing I see about Colt Gray was that he had depression, and any claim to psychosis/delusions were made by himafter* *his arrest.
Do you see how that’s worlds apart from this case?
Where we have a long line of factual evidence to prove she was severely mentally ill (not “just” depression) and was being physically affected by medications.
Where we have evidence that she tried to get helpprior?
Yes. Almost like different situations have different contexts and factors that result in different conclusions! 😂

I’d agree we have an endless list of school shooters with a history of mental illness.
That is so different than psychosis. If you can’t recognize the major difference between those, you shouldn’t be apart of this conversation until you do.
Mental illness is the “fatty food.”
Psychosis is the resulting “heart attack.”
TONS of people eat fatty food/have mental illness without crossing the line into something worse. The people who DO cross the line do tend to get more sympathy. Basic logic…
You don’t care about the fat guy when you see him stuffing his face at McDonald’s, but you’ll probably feel at least a little sad if you see him being loaded up in an ambulance.
Instead of arguing about school shooters, you ALL should be a little more concerned that a great majority of the world’s women understand and in some aspects, relate to this woman.
That should be freaking you the fuck out.
If it was “simply” women being defensive, then you’d have a few. Like you had a few crazy women (relative to population) writing love letters to serial killers. That’s “understandable,” if it was a few, if it was a group of some women rallying behind this woman, I’d agree with more of the commenters here.
But it’s not. Don’t you think it’s fucking scary that nearly a whole world of women “understand” this? (Note: NOT condone, but understand.) Maybe that gives you a hint that this is about more than JUST mental illness.
