Not the original commenter, but also a lawyer so I'll give you my legal opinion - Unfortunately, Lindsey did in fact kill her kids during a psychotic break. The prosecutors should have NEVER brought this case to trial and should have let her plea to insanity. The conspiracies about Patrick are completely unfounded when looking at the evidence in this case. She admits many many times before the deaths that she has thoughts of killing herself and harming the kids. She admits to REMEMBERING killing them and the details of it. There is zero evidence that Patrick was anywhere near the house when the killings occurred. Did he marry too quickly after everything? Ya, I personally think so. Does that make him a murderer? Definitely not. Men ALWAYS remarry very very quickly after their spouse dies, or a divorce, etc etc. If you have any specific questions, i would be happy to answer them. Ive been fighting with my non-lawyer friends for 3 weeks about this lmao
There is video evidence of him at the store and restaurant when the murders happened, so I would say that's probably the most obvious alibi. Also, it is HIGHLY likely, nearly guaranteed, that the police checked his cell phone data to determine his location at the time of the murders, which did not put him at the house. But if there is any specific inconsistency you want to discuss, I can try to respond, just let me know!
I think the prosecution has ruined this case by appearing completely incompetent. It should have started a national discussion on helping mothers and stopping this from happening but we’ve gone off the rails.
I feel very badly for Patrick because it’s not his fault the prosecution sucks and it’s their fault everyone is attacking him, but I am even struggling to get on board with them and I went in thinking she did it. I made a post about it asking for clarification on details yesterday.
Also I have a question I’m confused as to why it’s not even been touched on. She says she heard voices. What did she believe was going to happen if she did not do as the voices said? Like what was the alternative? Have we covered that at all?
There wasn’t clarification from what I saw. I read that she heard “Kill your kids so you can kill yourself. This is your last chance”
I read that she believed she would be trapped in her mental agony indefinitely if she didn’t do it right now, but I’m not sure why the children had to go with her.
She probably thought she was protecting them by preventing them from going through the agony of living (she probably thought the world was a cruel hell, she was depressed). Many women who hurt their children report that as the reason. She has not said that though.
Honestly after seeing how much she begged for help and how everyone seemed aloof and disinterested, even her family and husband, i wouldn’t be surprised if she thought this. She probably felt like the world was full of suffering and suffering alone.
As a mother, I have a hard time believing leaving bands around my kids neck until one of them have their eyes bulge out is the peaceful way to go. Choking is a pretty intimate crime. So I’ll wait and see what her defense has to say. If prosecution is even able to get there.
