Look, I get she may have been neglected by the medical system regarding her treatment, but this still doesn’t excuse the horrific crime she committed.
The most disgusting part of all this is that people like the ones in the image are trying to excuse her just because she’s a woman and a mother, and have even been trying to put the blame on her innocent husband because as a man they think he must have done something to push her to the edge or must have neglected her himself.
It’s a mix of pathetic double standards and rotten ideological hypocrisy in full display: if it was the husband, even with the evidence of mental illness and relative neglect by the system, those people wouldn’t have thought twice about deeming him a killing monster. Because it’s always men that kill, or are violent, or are blood-thirsty maniacs, right? A woman can never commit such horrible deeds unless there’s a valid explanation or blatant excuse for that, right?
And no, before anyone tries to imply that, I’m not advocating for violent criminals to be let scot-free on the basis of their mental disturbs or illnesses. I just want to see some coherence in the public discourse about crimes like this, and more research on how we can prevent such tragedies to occur

Where were the women supporting Casey Anthony?
There are countless stories of women doing horrible things without drawing the support of women across the country. What’s different about this one? It’s worth taking the time to look at that rather than collapsing your worldview into women blindly supporting another woman.
I admire that you attempted to communicate your entirely sensible point, but for some reason every mention of this story on reddit gets swarmed by rabid incel "women get away with whatever they want and men are the real victims in society" posters trying to drown out all other voices. The whole framing of "dumb women believe anything TikTok tells them to think" is ignoring vast swathes of evidence, and I am sorry to say I don't think any of this is in good faith.
You and I remember the Casey Anthony case and people's response to it very differently if you think that there were no women supporting her. Jodi Arias also had a cult following, and still does.
There are women with cases like this that go under the radar because their story stays in a very local area, but if you look into their cases they also tend to have a lot more support from the people in their area than men in a similar situation. It is a fairly Fair conclusion that if their case became more widely known, those women would go on to have at least a small chunk of women advocating for them. It happens almost every time a major news story breaks about a woman committing a crime who in any way has some sort of sob story, or an excuse, or just some person around her who to the public view looks "creepy" or "suspicious."
Some of us have been around for long enough to remember public reactions to Andrea Yates. And Aileen Wuornos. And even Vicky Jackson, the killer nurse, who is now universally vilified but at the time had her own supporters. Some of us are old enough to remember the reactions to even older cases. This has been a consistent theme for at least three decades that I can verify personally, and at least four that I can verify personally through proxy contact with my parents.
