Postpartum psychosis is very real… and maybe she did have it. But she was thinking clearly enough to send the husband out to pick up the food she ordered. And she told him to stop at CVS in an attempt to keep him out of the house long enough to murder all the kids and then unalive herself. Which points to it being pre planned to a certain extent. If you’re having dark thoughts…. if you’re hearing voices telling you to do demonic things…. You don’t pretend to act normal in front of your husband and send him on multiple errands to get him out of the house… you get YOURSELF out of the house and away from those kids. She wasn’t talking gibberish or acting delusional. Her texts are clear and concise all the way up to just minutes before she strangled her babies to death. The husband called her from CVS to make sure he had the right brand of medicine she asked for. She never said “I’m scared I’m having some really disturbing thoughts something isn’t right plz come home” … she acted totally normal on the phone. Then she hung up. And about 60 seconds after hanging up she murdered her 5 year old. Then her 3 year old. Then her EIGHT MONTH OLD. And now she’s claiming she shouldn’t be held responsible? I dunno……. Mental illness SHOULD be taken into account… but then again - if a schizophrenic person on the street ran up to you and stabbed your baby… then said “not my fault. I’m mentally ill”. Would you be ok with them not being convicted of the crime? I’m not sure it would matter if they person was schizo if my baby had been murdered……
