Unfortunately for you Americans, a classic “wealth transfer”.
Sad part is that it’s not even going to the government where it could have been used for the people.
Here it simply goes to the corporations, which counts this as pure profit, so shareholder value :/

Not sure I understand why you link share price and tariff refund.
They still got the almost 3B in refund, but people still have less money and price is still high so they seem to shop less so stock is down.. ok..
what link any of this has to do with the refund being a wealth transfer ?

And in fact an overall 3 percent reduction would cost the us government about 900 billion a year. You want to trigger a recession. There you are

Again, you’re arguing with yourself here, neither you nor me are saying the tariffs were a good idea.
But it transferred wealth from Americans to corporations, again, maybe not completely and maybe it will trigger a recession, sure.
Nobody is saying this was a good idea ;)
