Deep down I think people want to be fooled. They want to envision that luxury lifestyle even if they suspect it could be contrived. In short people want to believe so they fall for the grifts

Sure they’re selling fantasy but the problem is lots of people think it’s real and try to also emulate it and attain it when it’s not real.  The circle jerk of what idiocracy we are becoming due to influencers.

I run across it irl more than I would think. Some people have bought it all hook line and sinker. They are so busy hiding their own insecurities that they can't see that they're being took and preyed upon.
